Very different
Revisado: 10-16-21
This book was good, and there were not too many back stories of the main character. I was a little disappointed that Mouse wasn't used a lot but the book was good. I can see many different storylines that could crop up from this book. Now that Heather's hippie uncle has appeared.

Historia
Golden Globe-winning actor Michael C. Hall (Six Feet Under) performs Truman Capote's masterstroke about a young writer's charmed fascination with his unorthodox neighbor, the "American geisha" Holly Golightly. Holly - a World War II-era society girl in her late teens - survives via socialization, attending parties and restaurants with men from the wealthy upper class who also provide her with money and expensive gifts. Over the course of the novella, the seemingly shallow Holly slowly opens up to the curious protagonist.

Historia
We last saw Easy in 2007’s Blonde Faith, fighting for his life after his car plunges over a cliff. True to form, the tough WWII veteran survives, and soon his murderous sidekick Mouse has him back cruising the mean streets of L.A., in all their psychedelic 1967 glory, to look for a young black man, Evander "Little Green" Noon, who disappeared during an acid trip. Fueled by an elixir called Gator’s Blood, brewed by the conjure woman Mama Jo, Easy experiences a physical, spiritual, and emotional resurrection, but peace and love soon give way to murder and mayhem.

In pitch-perfect voices, Kathryn Stockett creates three extraordinary women whose determination to start a movement of their own forever changes a town, and the way women—mothers, daughters, caregivers, friends—view one another. A deeply moving novel filled with poignancy, humor, and hope, The Help is a timeless and universal story about the lines we abide by, and the ones we don't.

wonderful mix
Revisado: 04-17-13
Would you consider the audio edition of Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter to be better than the print version?
I have not read the printed version. I'm sure they are very similar because this was the unabridged version.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Speeds was my favorite character other than Abe. Because he has some really good sayings.
What does Scott Holst bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
He brought the story to life. It was if you could actually seeing what he was saying.
If you could take any character from Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter out to dinner, who would it be and why?
I'm not sure b/c all of the characters were very interesting. So I'm going to go with Abe, Henri, and Speeds.
Any additional comments?
This was an excellent listen. A great cross between fact and fiction. This mix was such as so that I'm looking forward to listening to pride and prejudice: vampire. This really sparked my interest.

Revisado: 03-25-13
Would you listen to The Wonderful Wizard of Oz again? Why?
YES. I would b/c there are some small details I'm sure I missed while listening. But I would only listen to it again after I looked at the movie to try to compare.
Who was your favorite character and why?
The scarecrow, because although he said he didn't have a brain he was able to think out plans to save them when they were under attack from wicked witch until she sent the flying monkeys.
Which scene was your favorite?
My favorite scene was the attack from the wicked witch.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
Some scenes made me laugh out loud.
Any additional comments?
I learnedly something new in the book the slippers are silver and not red as the movie depicts them. Also the demise of the second wicked witch. Although she died of melting as in the movie it wasn't because Dorothy was try to put the flames out on the scarecrow. It just makes me wonder why Hollywood would put that little spend on it from all those years ago. Excellent book great classic!

good listen
Revisado: 03-17-13
What made the experience of listening to Three Sisters the most enjoyable?
The fact that it was the story of three different women whom became best friends despite the first impression and the gossip about Deanna.
What other book might you compare Three Sisters to and why?
I'm not sure this was the first time I read/listened to a book with a story line like this.
What about Natalie Ross’s performance did you like?
There were not any profound moments. Her voice was smooth and the words easily flowed.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
Yes there were two, the first was when Deanna called Annie because she realized she need professional help with her OCD and the mental abuse she suffered as a child from her mom. The second was when Boston was finally able to cry and release the pain she suffered stemming from the death of her infant son.
Any additional comments?
This was a really good listen. I would buy the other books in the series.

Wonderful!!!!
Revisado: 03-15-13
Would you consider the audio edition of Safe Haven to be better than the print version?
I can not comment on that b/c I have not read the book. I just bought the audio version and it is absolutely wonderful!
Who was your favorite character and why?
I'm going to have say Kevin. Although he was the villain just hearing the the things he was thinking and saying to himself was hilarious. But I do think it was b/c of the way the narrator was saying what he was saying.
What does Rebecca Lowman bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
She brought the story to life. I probably would have enjoyed reading the book but her voice was smooth. She made you sit on the edge waiting for the next words, sentence, chapter.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?
I'm not sure there were some really good ones!
Any additional comments?
I loved how Carly Jo just showed up to guide Katie and the the letter she wrote to the woman whom her husband would love. That was a tear jerk moment for me.
