Historia
These works are considered Weil's primary essays and letters. In addition, Simone Weil's niece has contributed an introductory article entitled, 'Simone Weil and the Rabbi's: Compassion and Tsedekah,' which puts Weil's relationship with Jewish thought into perspective. She includes source material from the Rabbis that put Weil (however reluctantly) in line with rabbinical thought throughout her major themes. The book is the ideal English introduction to the works and thought of Simone Weil.

Historia
For all of neuroscience's advances, we've made little progress on its biggest question: How do simple cells in the brain create intelligence? Jeff Hawkins and his team discovered that the brain uses map-like structures to build a model of the world - not just one model, but hundreds of thousands of models of everything we know. This discovery allows Hawkins to answer important questions about how we perceive the world, why we have a sense of self, and the origin of high-level thought.

ironic
Revisado: 05-18-23
ironically self defeating in scope.
I will say he takes time to inform you he doesn't have any proofs for his theory of reference frames and that is interesting.
the theory itself is compelling.
however, if I am to take this as a correct model.
the non stop political deviation to every standard woe the human experiences from flat earthers, climate change, religion, misinformation ect; was not only unnecessary, but actually a ridiculous way to follow a concept such as his reference frames.
I feel like I just had twitch streamer logic turned into a scientific circle jerk.
i was essentialy just told the mechanics of being molested before
being molested by the man that told me how it works.
Basically, if your brain builds these reference frames from inputs, and those exchange with all info your will take in.
this book is an eternal reformation of his own reference frames pertaining to his opinions.
beyond that, it's really the only thought in this book that hasn,t been professed by a couple weed smoking hippies on a podcast talking about everything from robots to aliens or an autistic swedish girl that shoukd have stayed in school.
at chapter 11 you're done hearing anything worth your time.
next time you hear someone say "they don't like the way you're framming something" this book will be hillarious.

Historia
Our global economic system is broken. But we can replace the current picture of global upheaval, unsustainability, and uncertainty with one of an economy that works for all people, and the planet. First, we must eliminate rising income inequality within societies where productivity and wage growth has slowed. Second, we must reduce the dampening effect of monopoly market power wielded by large corporations on innovation and productivity gains. And finally, the short-sighted exploitation of natural resources that is corroding the environment must end.

Despotic Garbage
Revisado: 04-08-22
I'd hoped that all my fears going into this were going to be dispelled and I would finally have the language of stake holder capitalism explained to me.
the only thing this book conveys is
1- GDP doesn't measure well being
2- you should let rich people form NGO's that use extortion and social credit scores on corporations.
allow these people to literally control everything top down globally.
3- America doesn't retrain old people in fields when they get replaced by non-existant robots.
4-german bind villains are real.
please I beg you germans leave the world alone.
