In this groundbreaking work, psychologist Orion Taraban sets forth his economic model of relationships and exposes the often uncomfortable laws that govern the sexual marketplace. Extremely insightful.
Revisado: 12-18-24
I think Orion is onto something here. I did not expect his views of future relationships right at the very end. But it makes sense. I can see it happening. I recommend this book to both women & men. There are a lot of drawn metaphors, so a little chunky at times to listen to, but the author wraps it up really nicely at the end & it all makes much more sense. If you’re deciding if you should get this book, I say go for it.

An interesting glimpse into men
Revisado: 07-21-24
I liked Zan’s take on the way women like to be treated.. I love it when men treat me that way. Would be great if more men read this book.
The writing is very long winded, although charming. But this book could be half the length & get the point across better. The narration is also very slow.. I listened to it at x1.35 speed & it sounded like he was speaking normally, even still a bit slow.
But I love the stories & theories, so charming & inspiring & light. Made my heart sing. Gave me a wonderful glimpse into the male mind. & reaffirmed a few beliefs about femininity that the mainstream tries to drown out.
Overall a good book, albeit a bit drawn out.

If it can happen in show business, it’s happened to Jon Cryer. Now he’s opening up for the first time and sharing his behind-the-scenes stories in a warmly endearing, sharply observed, and frankly funny look at life in Hollywood. In 1986, Jon Cryer won over America as Molly Ringwald’s loyal and lovable best friend, Duckie, in the cult classic Pretty in Pink in a role that set the tone for his three-decade-long career in Hollywood. He went on to establish himself as one of the most talented comedic actors in the business.

He’s so much funnier than I thought!
Revisado: 01-23-23
Jon Cryer has a great sense of humour & an impeccable delivery. I did not expect this book to read like a cross between a stand up show & a sitcom.. thanks for entertaining me & enlightening me with your witty tales of life well & sometimes not so well live. Bought this book to hear Jon’s side about two & a half men.. ended up falling for his oddball charm. I see Jon cryer in a new light! Now I want to rent pretty in pink!

Overall some solid advice - would recommend to new moms of boys
Revisado: 04-12-20
Some is stuff you already know. Some is new information. Some opposes what you thought before. Some confirms your gut feelings. Overall worth the read.
Now and then (especially towards they end) it gets a little religious / preachy.. and touches on subjects of church / having faith in Christ and sex only being for marriage. But it doesn’t condemn those who don’t agree or shove anything down your throat. Rather it just gently promotes some Christian values which aren’t bad values to have anyway. But despite disagreeing with a few sentiments that I felt were outdated or a little too righteous, overall I felt it had a lot of rich thought that would help any mom raise a decent human being who is whole and productive and most importantly happy and confident in who he is.

Heartfelt, inspiring, witty & intelligent
Revisado: 06-23-18
As a fellow South African, I'm amazed at how Trevor is able to tell our shared story without bias and shame.. in a way that is lighted hearted but still respectful.. and most importantly, is easily digestible by an international audience who will hopefully walk away more enlighten as to our history and culture. Trevor is legit and his stories are so relatable to everyone.. I highly recommend this book to anyone.. even if you're not interested in a history lesson, the writing is funny as hell and had me laughing out loud all the way through.. an inspiring individual who I wish all the success to.

The voice artist really annoyed me. His timing and pauses were awkward. Sounded like a robot computer at times. Luckily the content was good enough to keep me listening.

I really enjoyed this book and the authors thoughts on creativity. Always good to get another perspective, especially one that resonates so deeply. I didn't mind the contradictions, as most things in life live in the grey area anyway.
