Historia
The outcast youth Ishmael, succumbing to wanderlust during a dreary New England autumn, signs up for passage aboard a whaling ship. The Pequod sails under the command of the one-legged Captain Ahab, who has set himself on a monomaniacal quest to capture the cunning white whale that robbed him of his leg: Moby-Dick. Capturing life on the sea with robust realism, Melville details the adventures of the colorful crew aboard the ship as Ahab pursues his crusade of revenge, heedless of all cost.

A piece of Heaven down with the ship
Revisado: 10-28-22
Mr Heald's performance was as if directed by Melville himself. My utmost favorite listen of all books I've listened to. Though my own power of referential metaphor be lacking, let me just say this book is Shakespeare meets Joyce. What unexpected joviality & depth, so complex, so rich, so satisfying.

Historia
In the tradition of The Boys in the Boat and Seabiscuit, a fascinating portrait of a groundbreaking but forgotten figure - the remarkable Major Taylor, the Black man who broke racial barriers by becoming the world’s fastest and most famous bicyclist at the height of the Jim Crow era.

very interesting story, both as biographically and historically. A great reminder for us not to backtrack on the progress made for civil rights and against bigotry!
