Needs a new performer

Now, I realize it's not going to be re-recorded but if they were going to, change the performer please. Her cadence and inflection never change. Every sentence is read the same; the same emphasis from beginning to end of every phrase. That makes it very difficult to listen to.
The story is your standard "I'm the wrong station" Regency romance. not bad. not great. but it is enjoyable.

My favorite!!

I've read and listened, and read and listened to the Bridgerton series so many times that I've lost count. I love them all but there's something about this one that makes it stand out for me. The grief process perhaps? I'm not sure. There's so much grief... I can relate. I was able to step into Francesca's mind (not in a woo-woo way either lol) and understand her pain. I connected and it hit me square in the feels.
Thank you for another amazing book!

And I don't want to forget Rosalyn Landor who, as always, breathed life into the story. Thank you!

The pace and plot were great. A bit overdone and predictable, but enjoyable none the less. The narration was good. She has an enjoyable voice... that sounds weird, but I hope y'all know what I mean. The writing around interpersonal relationships could be a bit contrived says times which made certain parts difficulty to read, it comes over cheesy and insincere. There were bits here and there that came across a bit like, "That was an interesting bit of information. It's not at all necessary and a bit distracting, but interesting enough that I think I'll put iiiiiiiit HERE!" There were points, as well, that read very formulaic. As if the author was was reading a book about how to write a book, this goes there, that goes here, this happens after that. As if they were checking off a list of things that need to be done when writing a novel, and in what order.
That all being said, I'll probably listen to it again and I'll probably check out other titles by this author.

Romance? Don't think so.

The plot was fine, if a bit predictable... it's a romance.l, what're you gonna do? Heh. The action of the story, the trials and tribulations, were nice. Enough to keep me interested. It was the sexy time bits I have issue with. One, the cheese was enough to gag on. But mostly, two, I don't find reading what constitutes as, an assault entertaining. She didn't want his attentions at first. He pushes and pushes and pushes, and plays the "I can't control myself" card; locking the door to the room so she can't leave, pushes her up against the wall while she's asking him, again, to leave...
I don't find that entertaining in the least. It *is* possible to build drama and desire without the woman being simpering and the man being aggressive.
I have read other books by this same author and thoroughly enjoyed them so please don't let it turn you off reading her work. It's this specific book that I have issue with .

Excellent Performance!!

The story is your typical, fairly cheesy romance novel. BUT do not let that stop you. the male narrator is FANTASTIC. Drew me in to even the cheesiest of love scenes. He's great and I'll be looking from more performances from him.

is this really Anne Rice?

this has got to be the absolute WORST book I've ever had the displeasure of wasting my time with. It can't seriously be written by Ms. Rice. It just can't. The writing is HORRID. The only plot emphasis is sex sex sex with people crying all the time. I've read, and thoroughly enjoyed the first three. This one, though, save your money. It's like a 16 year old boy wrote his fantasy.
Abysmal. If I could give 0, I would.

The story was predictable, but most romances are. The performance though? Cheesy in parts, dramatic in parts, and quite frequently had me on the edge of my seat and that RARELY happens.
I'll most likely listen again.
