My sister Delilah is a two-faced werecat and Death Maiden. And me? I’m Menolly, a jian-tu turned vampire in love with a wildly hot werepuma. Unfortunately, life is about to get very, very nasty…

More action, please
Revisado: 04-22-25
Too much endless sex and ritual - not enough action. Not the best of the series.

Not on a par with Agent Zero or Luke Stone
Revisado: 08-21-24
There didn’t seem to be a good reason for Jana to follow Jacob. The plot was highly reminiscent of Raiders of the Lost Ark. The deus ex machina was a little too hard to believe, as the two characters miraculously show up in the nick of time to save each other’s lives over and over. The narrator wasn’t bad, but sometimes it was difficult to distinguish his characters, and it was too easy to let my attention wander while he was reading. Mr. Mars should go back to Luke Stone and remember what made his books so riveting back then.

A little too mushy
Revisado: 07-28-24
I would rather have more about catching the murderer and less about how starry-eyed Tricia is about the new boyfriend. I also forgot how much I disliked the narrator’s voices for Tricia and Angelica. Guess I’ll go to Kindle for the next one. But this is still one of my go-to series.

If you start out with a good narrator, you should never change halfway through the series. I didn’t think anything could make an Alex Sigmore book dull, but this narrator tried her best - if in fact it was a real person and not a robotic AI application. I couldn’t tell one character from another, or even men from women. And don’t get me started on the monotonous tone and cadence. I guess I will have to switch to Kindle, if this narrator is going to continue. One thing is certain: I can’t give up Alex Sigmore.!

Get a new narrator. All characters sound the same. He’s also overly dramatic. But Nelson DeMille is great.

This is one of the few times I’ve preferred the movie to the book. Maybe it takes Christopher Reeve to make this character interesting, I almost gave up on it several times, but I guess I’m glad I stuck it out.

Not her best work
Revisado: 03-07-23
I love Kelley Armstrong’s books, but this one is not up to par. We move from one attack to another. I think what is lacking is even the slightest hint of humor or a few minutes of happiness interspersed with all the attacks of malevolent beings and humans. Still, I just ordered the second book in the series, hoping to find a spark of Kelley’s usual talent there!
