I knew every one of these folks in the early 70’s. A few of the stories showed me a side I was not familiar with - some good, some bad. Sue Brewer was sick by the time I knew her and Mikey. I’m heartsick that these guys didn’t stand beside them more. Hopefully that was just part of the story that was left out. She deserved better - so much better. She was an angel.
It took me a minute to get used to the voices not sounding like the actual characters, but after a while I could hear Kris and Shel and the others, and see them there. I don’t know how this book sounds to a casual reader, but for me, it brought back a myriad of memories, lots of laughter and buckets of tears.
