Such detail, violence, psychotic details in the book’s long entry segment could be termed unreadable and greatly upsetting by many readers. Persons of this criminal/depraved type undoubtedly exist, and I almost shudder with that thought.
My suggestion is it be reconsidered by the appropriate Audiobooks person(s) for whether it should be kept in the genre offerings. I’m a big fan of author Sanford but this book could not be finished.

Love the author, read many of his books. Big fan of Harry Bosch. BUT, when Audible began the book with music and proceeded to say music would be in the background of the book, I was surprised. Well, halfway through, still like the author and Bosch ... and don’t like the music at all. This will be my last book w/music. You can decide what you think of course.

Be sure you know this is a 3 hr book, not the normal longer saga-type. Still costs one credit. Wouldn’t by a similar ‘short’ offering. Also didn’t like Dewey’s drunk scene but that’s just my reaction.

Could be a tough ‘listen’ for those w/o medical/hospital and law enforcement experience. Will draw you in and may call up different, troubling emotions and values ... depending on the reader’s makeup and experience. Graphic descriptions are vivid. Glad I read it ... lots of food for thought from start to finish.
