Mitrel’s Balls What a Story

It is cruel to go through this much setup to leave us all waiting so long for Book 2. Loved this story.

Like a Moebius Strip

I did not think I was going to like this story as much as I did. At this age as a reader I find it hard for plots to surprise me, and this one did. How the non-linear timelines seemed to tie with each other in surprising yet logical ways, leaving me with the feeling at the end of a story weaved like a Moebius Strip. The only thing I kinda wish was added, was a bit of romance. While I ge the deep friendship connection, it was a bit too intense for me to buy it as the catalyst of everything. I enjoyed this story a lot.

An Unexpected Pleasure

I agree with the other review in that I was not expecting to like this story as much as I ended up liking it. Somehow, in the middle of daily life routines descriptions and magic portrayed as subtle as breeze passing by, I found myself enthralled with this story.
The one thing I do not get is why is marked as Book 1, when there seems to be no sign of a Book 2 coming out anytime in the future?

Great Plot

The further into the story I went, the more hooked I was. .. and the I was obsessed. I needed to know what were to happen next.

Off to a Weak Start

I enjoyed this trilogy because it is what I was in the mood for at the time. However, I can't, in good conscious, leave a 5 star review. The beginning, plot and dialogue wise was weak, but I'm happy I stayed and saw the story through. I have nothing against characters using the F word, but you can tell when the author uses it at every turn, it is just a clutch and not a character trait. There is room from improvement on an otherwise interesting premise. These demons are not true demons, but I guess that is how the magic and killing is justified.

Somehow She Made It

The main character makes it to the end and fulfills her fate by sheer luck... there is really no other way to describe it. Somehow, she also gets smarts and finally starts to figure things out in the last three chapters. Really, without the main character this would have been a better story.

She Should Have Died By Now

Somehow the main character is still alive and the key to save everybody, but she is not the brightest bulb in this story. One would think that, after all that happened o her in Book 1 she would have learned some things by now but nope! Still, the story, her logic aside, is pretty compelling.

The Fool as the Protagonist

I have never been so into a story line with such an infuriating main character. She is so dense, I often felt like I was watching the bad happen to her trapped in her body without being able to tell her she was being duped. I liked the story line very much, and the narrator was great, but I wish the story was being told from the point of view of a smarter character... like anybody else.

This Series is an Acquired Taste

I am a big fan of Sherlock Holmes and so that got my attention towards this series. I find the mysteries a bit hard to follow when listening, perhaps it would be easier if I were reading it instead. So many details, which is in truth to Conan Doyle's style. I find Charlotte Holmes to have an arch throughout the series very similar to Sheldon Cooper's from The Big Bang Theory.
