Coulda Woulda Shoulda
Revisado: 11-21-24
The characterizations in this book were so ridiculous, but matched the overall story. During tense, edge of the seat moments, a stupid, snarky comment from the character always seemed to be inserted. So annoying and because I've read many well written thriller books, this was very disappointing.

Historia
Anna Williams-Bonner has taken care of business. That is to say, she’s taken care of her husband, bestselling novelist Jacob Finch Bonner, and laid to rest those anonymous accusations of plagiarism that so tormented him. Now she is living the contented life of a literary widow, enjoying her husband’s royalty checks in perpetuity, but for the second time in her life, a work of fiction intercedes, and this time it’s her own debut novel, The Afterword. After all, how hard can it really be to write a universally lauded bestseller?

Revisado: 11-04-24
The incompleteness of the ending was a big let down. Women get overlooked, killing everyone was justified blah blah blah.

Revisado: 09-04-24
This is such a textured story, I don’t know how the author pulled it off. Beauty, empathy, murder edge of the chair suspense. I think I have to listen again.

Worse than the worst soap opera
Revisado: 11-07-23
Sloppily written, narration goes in and out of acceptable and the story demands suspension of our reason. Would have been better off not listening,

Ann Patchett with narration by Meryl Streep? This book has ruined it for other books I thought I’d read. I might just listen to this book over and over. Stunning.

On Harlow Street, the well-to-do neighborhood couples and their children gather for a catered barbecue as the summer winds down; drinks continue late into the night. Everything is fabulous until the picture-perfect hostess explodes in fury because her son disobeys her. Everyone at the party hears her exquisite veneer crack—loud and clear. Before long, that same young boy falls from his bedside window in the middle of the night. And then, his mother can only sit by her son’s hospital bed, where she refuses to speak to anyone, and his life hangs in the balance.

Historia
After Tova Sullivan’s husband died, she began working the night shift at the Sowell Bay Aquarium, mopping floors and tidying up. Keeping busy has always helped her cope, which she’s been doing since her eighteen-year-old son, Erik, mysteriously vanished on a boat in Puget Sound over thirty years ago. Tova becomes acquainted with curmudgeonly Marcellus, a giant Pacific octopus living at the aquarium. Marcellus knows more than anyone can imagine but wouldn’t dream of lifting one of his eight arms for his human captors—until he forms a remarkable friendship with Tova.

Heart Wrenching
Revisado: 04-26-21
I was in tears for some of this book. I loved the narration, the story was heartbreaking but I didn't want it to end. I immediately downloaded Diney Costeloe's previous book titled The Girl With No Name. I recommend The Throwaway Children because it is so well written and narrated. I held my breath to the end.
