Must Listen... an amazing story full of depth and wonder

What a treasure... to hear Michelle Obama read her own story about overcoming adversity, living her life true to her heart and values... even though it was beyond difficult..
So honest in recognizing her mistakes and imperfections.
How she married a man that matched her own values of trying to make our communities and our world a better place... she reminds us we all need to do our part.

Painfully long dragged out story - and offensive

Would you try another book from Tiffany Tsao and/or Nico Evers-Swindell?

No - not if she continues with this writing style and being so unnecessarily cruel to the treatment of her main character and using so many racial slurs and spends a completely unnecessary amount of time focused on the story lines of characters that have little to do with the main character's story

What three words best describe Nico Evers-Swindell’s voice?

The ONLY reason I could listen to this really bad novel. His lovely British voice and his representations of the characters was thorough and well done. He can't help it the story is simply not well written.

What character would you cut from The Oddfits?

All of them - honestly sadly I didn't even like the main character.

Any additional comments?

This was painful to listen to, I almost stopped several times - but I kept hoping it would get better through an explanation of the Quest and why the main character was invited on it - which never came to fruition until the last 2 chapters of the book.

So much time was indulged on excessive/unnecessary developing the characters surrounding the main character (5 minutes spent on the restaurant owner naming of names off lists of food dishes available in Singapore - was boring and frustrating to listen to as a reader).

And the main character was portrayed in such a unlikable character - (Every sentence was "Uhhhh Uhhhh Uhhhh) I really wanted to like and empathize with the main character but ended up disliking him entirely.

It was actually offensive the frequent and derogatory usage of Ang mo - (white person) in Asian Countries. I felt rather hated by the author just reading the way it was written. (since I am of European decent) . The reason was every white person in the story was cruel or outright stupid. The rare few people who were kind to the main character were Asian.

Love Brene Brown but The person who read it was hard to listen to

So I have absolute admiration for Brene Brown and have enjoyed all the books Brene has read.
Unfortunately- they chose someone other than Brene to read this - and this lady Karen is really hard to Listen to - it ranges from grating on my nerves and making me feel stressed - or I find myself tuning her out- and having to replay what she said. My wife was listening to this with me and she said - "I Can't listen any more - the readers voice is too grating"
So the content is great - but they chose the wrong person to read this
