Historia
On the edge of the galaxy, a diplomatic mission to an alien planet takes a turn when the Legionnaires, an elite special fighting force, find themselves ambushed and stranded behind enemy lines. They struggle to survive under siege, waiting on a rescue that might never come. In the seedy starport of Ackabar, a young girl searches the crime-ridden gutters to avenge her father's murder; not far away, a double-dealing legionniare-turned-smuggler hunts an epic payday; and somewhere along the outer galaxy, a mysterious bounty hunter lies in wait.

Scifi politics at its peak
Revisado: 03-26-25
Negotiating with pirates, gaslighting government officials, passing bribes, and a lot of fire fights. Just these two books alone are absolute bangers. Book 1 sets the tone of the series, but Book 2 Outlaws is the kicker. Book 2 had a REALLY GOOD plot twist at the end that had me relistening to the Epilogue. Really amazing work by the writers and R.C. Bray's stellar reading.
My only criticism is the Wobonky alien cat man being a bit too Chewbacca esque. But overall still far better than anything new from Star Wars or Halo.

Surrounded and outgunned, a group of private military contractors known as “Strange Company” find themselves on a remote planet at the edge of known space, and on the losing end of a bad contract. Orbital D-beam strikes, dropships bristling with auto-guns, missiles, and troops - even Monarch space marines in state-of-the-art advanced battle rattle - will try to prevent the company from reaching the exfil LZ and getting off-world.

Self-aware scifi merc can't catch a break
Revisado: 11-27-24
A deliciously vicious scifi war of mercenaries, big government, political intrigue, and horrors from beyond the veil of space and time. Platoon NCO Sergeant Orion is casually and regularly tossed into both an emotional and literal meat grinder. Nick Cole's description of the setting, characters and dialogue was a delicious treat. Warhammer fans will enjoy the Easter eggs.

Insane sequel with insane ending
Revisado: 11-27-24
I loved the first Strange Company book but this one blew my socks off multiple times. The Horrors slowly realized at the expense of the narrator is genuinely torturing. Truly a feat of expert writing.
