History makes the best story!
Revisado: 05-24-21
Great job getting a person to understand the tension that was everywhere leading up to the Boston Massacre. The narrator did a fantastic job with all the voices. I had to keep reminding myself it was only one person reading the story.

Historia
With a little determination and a lot of charm, Rosa Capoletti took a run-down pizza joint and turned it into an award-winning restaurant, voted the “best place to propose” three years in a row. For Rosa, though, there has been no real romance since her teenaged love affair with Alexander Montgomery ended without explanation a decade ago. But guess who’s just come back to town? Reunited at the beach house where they first fell in love, Rosa and Alexander discover that the secrets of the past are not what they seem.

Revisado: 02-26-21
this is a must have book. not only does it have True Romance, but love of family, childhood friends, and passion for one's life. Add an unsolved mystery and you have a novel that you can't put down.

Historia
In the wake of a shocking tragedy, Natalie Harper inherits her mother’s charming but financially strapped bookshop in San Francisco. She also becomes caretaker for her ailing grandfather Andrew, her only living relative - not counting her scoundrel father. But the gruff, deeply kind Andrew has begun displaying signs of decline. Natalie thinks it’s best to move him to an assisted living facility to ensure the care he needs. To pay for it, she plans to close the bookstore and sell the derelict but valuable building on historic Perdita Street, which is in need of constant fixing.

My Favorite Susan Wiggs novel
Revisado: 02-11-21
In Susan's novels, I always feel like I'm in the main character's head. She makes you understand their thinking and feel their emotions. This book puts you directly into Natalie's life, as it changed more than she could have imagined, all from one tragic event. As she comes home, and struggles to pick up the pieces of a financial mess left behind, she has the heartbreaking realization that her dear grandfather is forgetting things, sometimes even forgetting her. The brightest light in her life is the handy, who not only helps her repair the old building, but her life as well. My favorite Susan Wiggs book.

Historia
Some lines should never be crossed. Police corruption, an investigation that ends in tragedy and the mystery of a little girl’s silence – three unconnected events that will prove to be linked by one small town. While detective Cormac Reilly faces enemies at work and trouble in his personal life, garda Peter Fisher is relocated out of Galway with the threat of prosecution hanging over his head. But even that is not as terrible as having to work for his overbearing father, the local copper for the pretty seaside town of Roundstone.

Even better than her first two!
Revisado: 11-07-20
I had been waiting for this books to be released and it was well worth the wait. This book was fantastic. It has multiple twists and turns. Dervla McTiernan does a great job is helping you to know her characters. You begin to feel like part of the story. Aoife makes you begin to wonder how many people are reading the story . He is fantastic at becoming multiple characters. Highly recommended.

Susan Wiggs gets better and better
Revisado: 04-12-20
I always love a Susan Wiggs novel. The way she writes in such detail about the emotional ups and downs of each character. The Oysterville Sewing Circle grabs full on a very real problem that so many women in this world deal with. I can't imagine anyone not enjoying this empowering novel.

I was not sure if I was going to like this book because so much of it was narration. As always, Wiggs tugs on the heart of the reader with her detailed description of emotions.

the first Susan Wiggs book I was able to put down
Revisado: 07-23-19
I absolutely love Susan Wiggs' work. usually I cannot stop listening to her stories. I get so wrapped up in the characters. This was the first one of her books I did not feel that way. While it was still a good book, I do not feel as if it was one of her best.

you can always feel the characters emotions
Revisado: 05-10-19
Susan Wiggs gets you into the character's emotional state. My strongest connection to Faith, the main character, was when she was describing the last few minutes spent with her husband before his death. You could feel her sorrow and intrepidation of going on without him.
