If dealing with your personal finances is something difficult for you to do, or something you always put off doing because you just don't like doing it or feel inadequate about it, this audio book if for you! The author puts forward a simple approach providing templates and sound advice guiding you through so that you understand and are comfortable with the process. Everyone accrues bills as part of living: we need shelter, food and even entertainment! But not everyone knows how to handle their bills, or even more importantly, how to make plans for their financial futures. Ms. Rohrer helps you to capture your current financial status, and then regardless of that status, she shows you how to measure, track and improve upon it, through good financial habits and strategies. "Face Your Finances" benefits anyone, college graduates on up to senior adults, who are looking to improve upon and confidently take control of their financial situation.

I thoroughly enjoyed the author's sense of humor and how she made an otherwise typically "dry" topic, interesting and fun. Her quotes from famous people at the beginning of each chapter are gems! One of my favorites is Ayn Rand: "Money is only a tool. It will take you wherever you wish, but it will not replace you as the driver." This is a well-researched and well thought-out book on personal finance that give us all the encouragement and impetus to get our finances in order! I highly recommend it!

This book contains a wealth of information and ideas on how to discover your inner self through journaling. Besides explaining the many benefits of journaling it provides several different techniques you can use to get started. From free-form writing to mind mapping and even problem trees you can examine and work through challenging areas that you may want to improve in your life; or simply journal to get to know what goals you want to set for yourself to live your life to its fullest. I really enjoyed the author's section on helping one determine what their true core values were and what happiness meant for them. And I thought it was extremely helpful to divide life's goals into separate areas and then create a pie diagram to help see more clearly which areas you want to work on more. Ms. Calabresi also points out that using a journal to solve problems is only one aspect; it could and should also be used to learn more about yourself and celebrate your own life successes! I found it refreshing and uplifting to use journaling to remind myself of the strengths that I have and to be positive and grateful for the many good things in my life. The many prompts and suggestions in the book make it easy for one to begin journaling and find which style or technique works well for them. The book is very well organized and gives an excellent summary at the end. I highly recommend not only reading this book but also making journaling an active part of your life! I thoroughly enjoyed reading it and learned so much!

I have started and stopped journaling several times before in my life, never understanding why I couldn't keep my efforts consistent. This book not only educates and prepares you for the art of journaling, but explains how to make it a habit so you will stick with it. It is very informative on the benefits of journaling to exercise your mind and help to increase your overall health. People that I admire and respect, such as Ben Franklin, Leonardo DeVinci, Tony Robbins, Oprah Winfrey, Anne Frank, etc., all kept personal journals and attributed a lot of their successes and satisfaction with their lives, to the practice of journaling. Writing forces you to use your brain, organize your thoughts, chronicle your feelings and life experiences and helps you to appreciate what you have, what your goals are and how you want to grow as a person. The book helped me to open up my eyes to the many different types of journals you can create, encompassing some of the topics I just mentioned but also being used as an emotional purge or a receptacle to record any dreams and aspirations you may have. The author gives straightforward advice on how to dodge the pitfalls of why people don't journal, such as no time, nothing to say, etc., and explains how to turn journaling into a powerful habit by linking journaling queues to some of our already existing habits, like brushing our teeth or enjoying morning coffee. I definitely enjoyed this book and appreciated the author's style of communication: I felt like she was right there by my side, guiding me through how to make journaling a part of my life. Now, I have already started three journals: one on dreams, one daily targets and lessons learned, and one on things I am grateful for! This is an uplifting inspirational book I highly recommend reading!
