I worked with Dan, although not directly. Our paths only crossed a couple times. He was an ops guy and I was in sales. After listening to his book I hope one day our paths cross, he was one of the best in our industry.

Historia
Britain's Special Air Service - or SAS - was the brainchild of David Stirling, a young, gadabout aristocrat whose aimlessness in early life belied a remarkable strategic mind. Where most of his colleagues looked at a battlefield map of World War II's African theater and saw a protracted struggle with Rommel's desert forces, Stirling saw an opportunity: Given a small number of elite, well-trained men, he could parachute behind enemy lines and sabotage their airplanes and war matériel.

In this adventure from the pen of Sweden's master of crime and mystery, a disillusioned Inspector Kurt Wallander is thrown back into the fray when he becomes both hunter and hunted. Another Great story by Mankell T
Revisado: 09-08-24
I’ve listened to at least 5 or six Mankell, Kurt Valander books. All were read by the late great Dick Hill. Already a good story, but Mr. Hill brings them to life. He’s the best narrator I’ve ever listened to.

Historia
Longer than Moby-Dick and nearly as ambitious,The Baseball 100 is a one-of-a-kind work by award-winning sportswriter and lifelong student of the game Joe Posnanski that tells the story of the sport through the remarkable lives of its 100 greatest players. In the book’s introduction, Pulitzer Prize-winning commentator George F. Will marvels, “Posnanski must already have lived more than 200 years. How else could he have acquired such a stock of illuminating facts and entertaining stories about the rich history of this endlessly fascinating sport?”

My first Posnanski book
Revisado: 08-31-24
A friend of mine told about this book. I’ve always been a baseball fan, KC Royals and KC A’s. My grandfather was a huge baseball fan. He got me hooked. He would go to Monarch games, KC Blues games. He would typically go by himself. When I was old enough, he started taking me. When Satchel pitched at 59, I was there with my papa. Great memories. I specifically remember him telling me, boy, old Satchel throws bb’s, no one can hit him. Only Yaz did that day.

In the grand storytelling style that is his signature, James Michener sweeps us back through time to the very beginnings of the Jewish faith, thousands of years ago. Through the predecessors of four modern men and women, we experience the entire colorful history of the Jews, including the life of the early Hebrews and their persecutions, the impact of Christianity, the Crusades, and the Spanish Inquisition, all the way to the founding of present-day Israel and the Middle East conflict.

But the LAPD's organized crime unit is curiously uninterested, and when Harry follows a trail of gambling debts to Las Vegas, the case suddenly becomes more complex - and much more personal.
