inspiring for parents of children with ASD
Revisado: 02-06-24
this book gave me hope for the future of my young child with ASD. We have already done so many of the therapies that the family of Jamie also tried prior to trying the letter board.

Historia
Two estranged sisters, Lillian and Adelia, struggle to come to terms after the mother they've believed to be dead for the past 15 years actually passes away. Confused and in shock, they travel together to the isolated village of their childhood to claim the farm that was passed on to them. There’s comfort in returning to this place of their birth, where a simpler, rustic life feels possible - but the sisters quickly realize that something is very wrong with the village and that their mother was hiding more than they could have ever imagined.

not the best read
Revisado: 08-27-21
I hated the narration. hated it. reminded me of a computer speaking. thankfully the story was short. I felt like I was just starting to be able to maybe get into it as the characters were starting to develop, and then it was over .

A taut thriller about two rural Minnesota towns locked in a deadly feud - and a teenage girl caught in the crossfire. In affluent Barron, a powerful and secretive scientific research corporation enriches its residents, while downriver in blue-collar St. Croix, victims of that company’s carcinogenic waste struggle to survive. The bad blood between the communities escalates into open warfare when the beautiful Ashlynn, daughter of the corporation’s president, is found shot dead - and a St. Croix girl, Olivia Hawk, is accused of the crime.

couldn't get past the male narrator accent
Revisado: 08-03-21
story line was ok. kept me listening. for some reason I really struggled with a male narrator doing teenage girl voices and the thick accent on the "yeahs" was a lot to overcome for me. but in general a good story line that kept me listening and I did adjust to the other things eventually.

Historia
With courage, grace, and powerful insight, bestselling author Kristin Hannah captures the epic panorama of World War II and illuminates an intimate part of history seldom seen: the women's war. The Nightingale tells the stories of two sisters, separated by years and experience, by ideals, passion and circumstance, each embarking on her own dangerous path toward survival, love, and freedom in German-occupied, war-torn France—a heartbreakingly beautiful novel that celebrates the resilience of the human spirit and the durability of women. It is a novel for everyone, a novel for a lifetime.
