A fun addition
Revisado: 08-17-20
I enjoy learning more about mythology and this is a fun fictional way to do so. A good narrator can make or break an audio book. This narrator is consistent in voices of characters although many are similar and some equally annoying.
I will continue listening to the story as it unfolds in new books and most likely listen to them again and again.

Historia
After a summer spent trying to prevent a catastrophic war among the Greek gods, Percy Jackson finds his seventh-grade school year unnervingly quiet. His biggest problem is dealing with his new friend, Tyson, a six-foot-three, mentally challenged homeless kid who follows Percy everywhere, making it hard for Percy to have any "normal" friends.

This was another fun listen and a great continuation of the Percy Jackson story. I enjoy the new mythology brought into the story. This is a great adventure/mystery listen.

Historia
Twelve-year-old Percy Jackson is about to be kicked out of boarding school...again. No matter how hard he tries, he can't seem to stay out of trouble. But can he really be expected to stand by and watch while a bully picks on his scrawny best friend? Or not defend himself against his pre-algebra teacher when she turns into a monster and tries to kill him? Of course, no one believes Percy about the monster incident; he's not even sure he believes himself.

Good clean fun!
Revisado: 06-14-20
I enjoyed the mythology based story in our modern world. This was mysterious and adventurous. Did I mention clean? The story didn’t need any cussing which makes it a fun listen in the car as a family.

Not my cup of Joe...
Revisado: 11-27-19
I listened through the whole book to give it a fair shake. It took over 5 hours for me to finally get into/enjoy the story. I didn’t care for the Hobbit poetry or songs.
The narrator at times seem to mix up the voices he assigned characters so that it became confusing who was speaking.

Less than 2 minutes in...
Revisado: 04-02-19
For the first minute and a half I felt relatable to the situation. Just shy of two minutes, f-word. Not a fan of such language, especially as I often listen to audiobooks as I travel. Not the language I want my kids repeating.

Revisado: 03-08-19
I haven’t enjoyed such a read as this since reading Moriah Densley’s “Starter Wife”.
This story brings in the humor of modern dating but also has spunky quirks.
This is a fun read for a couple.

Historia
Here is the kind of authentically detailed epic novel that has become Louis L’Amour’s hallmark. It is the compelling story of US Air Force major Joe Mack, a man born out of time. When his experimental aircraft is forced down in Russia and he escapes a Soviet prison camp, he must call upon the ancient skills of his Indian forebears to survive the vast Siberian wilderness.

This is another great novel that breaks away from his traditional Wild West style novels. He had great insight into the Native American skills, talents and history as well as into the Russian culture.

Not what I remember
Revisado: 01-22-19
I originally read this book 15 years ago as a teenager. I really enjoy this different L’Amour story. I didn’t love the narrators tone/voice with this story and it was frustrating how it wasn’t always at a constant volume level that would require an adjustment of my phone controls. This means taking gloves off and pulling phone out of pocket.
As a teen I didn’t recall the main character being a man whore hoping from one lady to the next. The last dislike is in regards to the book building up to the main event at the end, yet the story resolves the main event so quickly and in just a few chapters.
All in all, a refreshing different story from L’Amour.

Historia
In 1914, the war which was to have been wrapped up by Christmas had - in reality - only just begun, as all sides entrenched themselves deeper into the Great War. Christmas Eve, 1914 follows one company of British officers as they rotate forward to spend their Christmas on the front lines, a mere 80 yards from the German guns. Upper- and working-class men and boys are thrown together into one trench and struggle to survive.

Personal preference
Revisado: 01-22-19
I enjoyed this story and it’s perspective of a remarkable real life event. My dislike is attributed to the difficulty hearing what is said/told when the background noises are going. I understand that would be true of the actual happenings of war, but for an audiobook, when you only have the sense of hearing to get information, it is distracting.

Vastly different.
Revisado: 01-03-19
I came to this book after watching the movie. I really enjoyed the movie, however there are vastly and significantly different occurrences between them. Which I have no problem with as they are both great stories as long as you don’t expect the movie to match the book.
My only grievance with the story is due to my personal dislike of profane and vulgar language.
