Historia
There are two sides to every story: yours and mine, ours and theirs, his and hers. Which means someone is always lying. When a woman is murdered in Blackdown, a quintessentially British village, newsreader Anna Andrews is reluctant to cover the case. Detective Jack Harper is suspicious of her involvement, until he becomes a suspect in his own murder investigation. Someone isn’t telling the truth, and some secrets are worth killing to keep.

LOVED IT!
Revisado: 09-05-20
She does it again. This book blows you away and keeps you engaged the entire time. I love that Alice Feeney also uses the same narrator for all of her books. Well done, Alice Feeney, well done.

Historia
If you suffer from unwanted, intrusive, frightening, or even disturbing thoughts, you might worry about what these thoughts mean about you. Thoughts can seem like messages - are they trying to tell you something? But the truth is that they are just thoughts, and don’t necessarily mean anything. Sane and good people have them. If you are someone who is plagued by thoughts you don’t want - thoughts that scare you, or thoughts you can’t tell anyone about - this book may change your life.

It’s very helpful, good narration and will make you rethink how you handle Anxiety. One of the best books I have read on mental health.

Historia
To Katherine, 24-year-old Lily Lunt is a typical “snowflake.” It seems like the privileged, politically correct millennial will do whatever she can to make it big as a writer, including leveraging her family’s connections. To Lily, Katherine Ross, a career woman in her early 40s, is a holdover from another era: clueless, old-fashioned, and perfectly happy to build her success on the backs of her unpaid interns. Is Katherine being paranoid? Or is Lily seeking to systematically destroy her life? As Katherine tries to fight back, a toxic generational divide turns explosive....

Historia
Evie and her uncle Jim have just moved to an isolated cabin in a remote beach town - a far cry from their hometown of Melbourne. But Evie isn't her real name. And Jim isn't really her uncle. Jim tells Evie she did something terrible back home, that he's hiding her to protect her. But Evie can't remember anything about that night - for all she knows, he's lying. As fragments of her memory return, she starts to wonder if Jim is really her savior...or her captor.

This book kind of reminded me of Good Me Bad Me at the end. I really thought I knew where it was going but there were many twist and turns. I love a book that goes back and forth from past to present day. Love it! Great Narrator too.

I have been putting off reading this for over a year. I saw the series was coming to Netflix and rushed to finish it before it came out. This a new favorite, an amazing psychological thriller. Can wait to read Hidden Bodies.

Good story, not great
Revisado: 11-12-18
I liked the pace of the book and that you never learn the name of the main character. It did keep you guessing until the end but lingered in some areas. All in all a good listen.

In love with a Sociopath
Revisado: 08-06-18
I thought this book was going to be about a girl in an abusive relationship. It’s a story of being in love with a sociopath and as covers other issues such as mental health. Great read, was long but I never lost interest.

Revisado: 06-04-18
The Luckiest Girl Alive is my favorite book, but I think the Favorite Sister may now be it. I felt like this book was written just for me. I did not even finish it yet and I am writing the review. The narration alone is phenomenal and the twist and turns keep you hooked. For anyone who is a Bravo fan will love this book.

Good Listen
Revisado: 03-13-18
Where does The Girlfriend rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
It is somewhere in the middle, it was a good listen. Nothing wrong with the story, but it wasn't mind bending.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Cherry, I wanted to know more about her.
What do you think the narrator could have done better?
Slow down, I had to listen to the book at a lower speed. There was also on time where she repeated herself. Another time where someone else's voice read a sentence which was weird. Maybe there was an editing issue. However, it did not ruin the book for me.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Not one sitting, maybe 3 or 4.

Historia
When Angela met Jason Powell while catering a dinner party in East Hampton, she assumed their romance would be a short-lived fling, like so many relationships between locals and summer visitors. To her surprise, Jason, a brilliant economics professor at NYU, had other plans, and they married the following summer. For Angela, the marriage turned out to be a chance to reboot her life. She and her son were finally able to move out of her mother's home to Manhattan, where no one knew about her tragic past.

Wanted to like it more
Revisado: 02-06-18
The narrator’s voice was a little too sleepy sounding for me. I had play the book at a slower speed because there was some mumbling.
The story it self had potential and there were so many great reviews but it didn’t wow me. The pay off at the end almost wasn’t worth the wait. However I could see how others would really enjoy the story.
