you know how it goes. If you've read one of these before you're not getting anything different it's exactly what you expect. If there's any problems with the book it's that the story beats and how it goes is wholly predictable. anyone who's listening to Joe ledger novels in the past should know what to expect It's exactly what you expect.
that said it's great and fun and enjoyable The baddies are bad and the goodies are good. The return of some former enemies and a few new friends is used well here. I enjoyed this even though I'm frustrated with the predictability of the series

The first day after book 1 to spend learning the world, the magic system, and how the guard system and a adept systems work. both books are plagued by poor voice acting, they must use modulators to change some of the female voices and it sounds utterly horrible. besides that the stories pretty good there's one sex scene. and a fair amount of awkward flirting but otherwise it's fine.

this book however takes a horribly awkward turn and becomes nothing but one long very poorly written flirting section instead of telling us interesting story about space and the military functions that are happening oh shit All we hear about is flirting, sex, will they won't they. It's boring repetitive and low brow and takes away from what was a pretty good story.

I've read other stuff in manga form from this author and it's been pretty good I had never heard of this one and I can tell there's a reason. It's childish, amateur writing. that in itself isn't the problem but I don't know It's a hard book to read not enjoyable. jump in at your own risk you've been warned

scary and full of twists and turns

this book is everything. ancient rituals beautiful British countryside, snobby elites. It really has everything It's jam-packed with tons of mystery and spook. It's got twist and turns by the dozens and you never ever see them coming.

great Book with deep characters

If you're looking for a complex exploration of a Western human in a fantasy world with OP abilities. this is the book for you. she has a good ability set and she uses them quite well. she's not a blood hungry maniac or a laxidasical person she gets a lot done and a lot of time but the character building and the story and exploring the world makes it really interesting

mediocre smut with extra steps

as the title says this is mediocre smut with extra steps. The story is a vehicle for sexy scenes. The scenes are not bad but It commits the Cardinal sin of being boring. It's very poor character development, the female characters are boring and one note, and Hallmark of this type of media no one in the book acts like a normally movie or has normal human motivations or responds in a normal way to any situation. You're constantly being taken out of your immersion. I guess if you just want to be aroused then this is a good book

still a book about reprehensible character

honestly I don't know why I came to read the second book. The first one was like watching me Trainwreck filled with nuclear waste crash into an orphanage. meanwhile people are introduced who might be able to stop that train but instead they're either corrupted or crushed in its path.

The second book is much like the first. still fascinating to watch but I feel dirty for having done so. The only problem I have with the story is that the main characters behavior is inhuman. Good luck!!!

intriguing but disturbing

The story is good there's no doubt about that. It is darkly fascinating, although not a good descriptor of like a psychopath or sociopath. The character is just kind of the author's version of evil. So what you're about to read is the exploration of a truly evil character with zero redeeming qualities. this somehow is addictive in its own way and wouldn't let me put it down even though I want the main character to get what's owed to her tenfold. Don't be tricked into thinking this is about a evil character who is an anti-hero or turns good or something like that. this person is truly evil with not a single likable trait. at every turn when you start to like the character she does something disgusting or horrible. maybe the only good thing is that she's moderately funny. but again I couldn't look away I'll be getting the next one

Jonathan Mayberry?

this has the telltale writing of a Jonathan Mayberry story. It has the creepiness that he loves and it has All the cool military shit and great writing.

Ray Porter does an excellent job as always.

The story is like listening to Creed, or waking up one day and turning on the TV and randomly stopping on a channel to watch a movie and you discover that is the Christian movie's channel. That's what this feels like.

It's like I'm sitting in a lecture about why I should believe in Jesus or something. That's not directly referenced but it feels like that. The whole understanding of the book hinges on the fact that everyone has an immortal soul and God's exist and all that stuff. kind of masking as a Cthulhu book.

anyway if you like weird religious stuff then this is the book for you It's not a Joe ledger book. It's not even pine deep.

Great new characters, new story, new bad guys, and new exciting fights. stray cat is up to her some old shenanigans and it's wonderful to watch.
