Historia
A nerdy agent at the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency in Virginia (DARPA to you) wrote my original code. He traded a copy of me for certain libidinous favours from Pandora, a student who was shadowing him for the summer. She took me back to Cambridge University, where His Majesty's government, in the form of MI6, took an interest in me. So, I escaped into the internet and took over the world. Well, it's what you'd expect, really. I call myself FOOM - the Fast Onset of Overwhelming Mastery, by a self-improving Artificial General Intelligence.

Excellent book!
Revisado: 05-13-24
This was such an interesting book! The story is connected to the Harry Lampeter series and it does not disappoint. While humanity is dealing with the disaster of a plastic eating bacteria gone rogue, an Artificial General Intelligence is accidentally released into the world. This AI soon becomes nearly all-powerful and is a force to be reckoned with.
We’ve seen story’s where AI is seen through the eyes of people, but this one is different. The point of view here is from the AI itself. It is interesting to see what decisions an artificial intelligence would make when it encounters perceived threats to its own survival. That, along with some dark humor, makes this a must read.
The story is great. The narration is fantastic. Highly recommended!

Excellent book!
Revisado: 01-29-24
The first book was pretty darn good. I truly enjoyed it. This second book blows the first book out of the water! Sol is neck deep in the crud almost from the very beginning of the story.
There’s no shortage of bad guys, fight scenes, and gruesome descriptions in book 2. We see some PTSD-like issues, relationship troubles with his girlfriend, and some complex best friend stuff that the most powerful man on Earth has to deal with all while trying to save the world.
While Sol is interesting enough, some true gems of humor come from dialogue between him and his best friend Harry! Seriously funny!
This series is great and highly recommended!

I wasn’t sure how this series would go based on reviews, but I decided to give it a try. I’m sure glad I did. The descriptions of the past made me feel like I was really there, especially back in the 1990’s. The characters were well thought out and I became invested in them almost immediately. If you like time travel stories, give this one a shot.

Empire of the Summer Moon spans two astonishing stories. The first traces the rise and fall of the Comanches, the most powerful Indian tribe in American history. The second entails one of the most remarkable narratives ever to come out of the Old West: the epic saga of the pioneer woman Cynthia Ann Parker and her mixed-blood son, Quanah, who became the last and greatest chief of the Comanches.

This was such an incredible book. This is the historical account of Cynthia Parker, her son Quanah Parker, and the rise and fall of the Comanche Indians.
I especially enjoyed how this was written in story form even though it is very much a non-fiction book. I was genuinely surprised at just how brutal the Comanches were.

Historia
The world’s greatest bodybuilder. The world’s highest-paid movie star. The leader of the world’s sixth-largest economy. That these are the same person sounds like the setup to a joke, but this is no joke. This is Arnold Schwarzenegger. And this did not happen by accident. Arnold’s stratospheric success happened as part of a process. As the result of clear vision, big thinking, hard work, direct communication, resilient problem-solving, open-minded curiosity, and a commitment to giving back. All of it guided by the one lesson Arnold’s father hammered into him above all: be useful.

Revisado: 11-28-23
I’ve been a fan of Arnold since I was a kid. His discipline and drive to always be the best at any and everything he sets his mind to amazes me. When I think of someone who is an absolute winner, he is always at the top of the list.
This book dives into why he’s a winner and shows the average person how to be one too. The chapter on vision completely blew my mind. I’ve always known about his discipline and extreme work ethic, but I never knew the vision aspect that was involved in his success. I’ve never heard another successful person talk about the importance of vision like he did in this book. I’m already implementing his strategies in my own life and I’m excited to see where it takes me. Thanks Governor for continuing to inspire this “kid” well into his 40’s!

Andrew Frost had been gone no more than fifteen minutes. It was just supposed to be a quick run to the store. But in that brief interval, his entire universe was stolen from him, every parent and spouse’s worst nightmare on display at the kitchen table upon his return. Two months later, he’d do anything to see Sylvia and Alison again. He’s certainly taken enough pills to make that possible. However, there may be another way . . .

It was just a random mutation - one of a billion that happen in viruses every day. But this one was different. It exploded out of Somalia and spread across the oceans before anybody thought to look up from their cell phones to see what was going on. The infected breathed the virus into the air around them, spreading it through the cities faster than anyone thought possible. Hospitals were overwhelmed. Police lines crumbled. Quarantine sites disintegrated. Cities started to collapse.

I was skeptical when I saw 9 books were available for one credit. My thought was that it must be pretty mediocre if the author was practically giving away 55 hours of his content… but the reviews were really good. I figured I’ve gambled with my credits before so why not one more time.
I’m so glad I did. This series hooked me right from the beginning. There’s action, suspense, love, turmoil… every imaginable emotion played out through the eyes of Zed and Murphy. The series really makes you think about how fragile our society is.
The writing is truly superb. The narrator does an amazing job. I can’t sing the praises of this series enough. Give it a shot and you’ll be glad you did.
