What sort of men were the Roman emperors (and they were all men)? What background and training, if any, prepared them for their awesome responsibilities? What depravities did they display? And what achievements can they claim: laws passed, monuments built, lands and peoples conquered? Dive into these questions and more with this introduction to the complex personalities of emperors such as Augustus, Caligula, Claudius, and Nero.

Great Course!
Revisado: 10-18-17
I enjoyed professor Fagan's course on Emperors of Rome. His narrative and detailed review of imperial themes was easy to follow and explored the famous and infamous leaders of the Roman Empire. Highly recommend to others who are interested in the topic.

Historia
Ancient Egyptian civilization is so grand our minds sometimes have difficulty adjusting to it. It lasted 3,000 years, longer than any other on the planet. Its Great Pyramid of Cheops was the tallest building in the world until well into the 19th century and remains the only Ancient Wonder still standing. And it was the most technologically advanced of the ancient civilizations, with the medical knowledge that made Egyptian physicians the most famous in the world.

Great Course!
Revisado: 12-09-16
I really enjoyed this course as a thorough exploration of Egypt's incredible history. Professor Brier organizes the course to take you through the chronological history while also taking nice side detours on interesting topics about the Egyptians (hieroglyphs, mummies, etc). Highly recommend the course for anyone that is interested in the learning more about this incredible civilization and its influence on the world. Thanks Professor Brier!

Loved the course
Revisado: 09-12-16
I have been to Japan a number of times and my wife's family is from Japan so I was familiar with the country and some if it's history. This course greatly increased my understanding of Japan and it was an truly enjoyable experience. This course was a fantastic way to learn the history of this great nation while Professor Ravina brought Japan's culture, religion, food and art to life.
Thank you for a great course! I can't wait to return to Japan and connect with my wife's family.
P.S. The section on food will make you incredibly hungry. 😉

Amazing series of lectures
Revisado: 06-02-16
I purchased this audible because I was interested in a certain number of key philosophers and understanding their backgrounds and ideas. I was happily impressed by receiving so much more with this package. The lectures were fantastic, content was thorough, and the professors or well-versed and easy to understand. I thoroughly enjoyed the series and will look for more products from "the great courses". Well done!
