I only try on one of Nina’s pristine white dresses once. Just to see what it’s like. But she soon finds out...and by the time I realize my attic bedroom door only locks from the outside, it’s far too late. But I reassure myself: The Winchesters don’t know who I really am. They don’t know what I’m capable of....

Very similar to "The Last Mrs. Parrish"

I think 3 stars is a fair enough review but I mostly kept listening to find out just how similar the 2 books would end up being.

Don't waste a credit
Revisado: 05-31-22
I've noticed everytime a book has a famous author as their main character the writing is juvenile. The Arrangement was a little strange tge way it ended but it wasn't bad so i wanted to give some of her other books a try but nothing happens until the last 35 mins of this one. It doesn't make much sense and you have nothing to hope for because none of the characters are likeable. Hours of dialog between characters and the MC whining about how mean everyone was to her 10 years ago. The narrator did a good job and was the only reason I didn't give up and return the book.

She can’t sleep, can’t work, and can’t bear to touch her beautiful baby girl. Her emotional state is whispering lies in Veronica’s ear: You’re a bad mother. But not everything can be reasoned away by Veronica’s despair. Can it? After all, the break-in at her house happened. The disturbing sketches she found in her studio are real. So is the fear for her daughter’s safety — especially when Veronica comes home to a silent nursery and a missing baby.

Listening to this is like listening to a child that just won't get to the point. It reads like a run on sentence, bogged down with details.

Mostly pointless (Tiny spoilers)
Revisado: 03-15-22
I got through the book by telling myself the slow part will be over soon and everything will make sense in the end. Nothing truly tied together and a lot of time was wasted on details that don't even matter. Want to know who the mysterious company is that hired Emma? Too bad! The main character can't shake her daddy issues for 14 yrs despite having in depth knowledge of psychology but then magiclly moves on after 4 months. I liked The Dissappearing Act but this one doesn't have a strong ending.

A few years ago, a kind driver found her bleeding next to a New Jersey highway and rescued her. While her physical wounds healed, Addison’s memory never returned. She doesn’t know her real name. Too far-fetched for me
Revisado: 12-24-21
This story is so unbelievable they could have thrown in a talking lamp, flying dog and said this all took place on Mars and it wouldn't have made a difference. The first chapter with the male narrator was a give away to the "twist" at the end so it just made for a very predictable story told in a very strange way. I liked The Wife Stalker enough to try another Liv book but this will probably be the last.

Historia
Bryon and Mark aren't related, but they are as close as brothers. Ever since his parents died when he was nine, Mark has lived with Bryon and his mother. Now at 16, they like to reminisce about old times - the fights and pranks at school, smoking and swearing - junk they got into when they were younger. But lately things have been different. Bryon starts spending a lot of time with Cathy, and she makes him feel there are some things worth working for. He grows bored with all the fighting, the dead-end choices of life on the streets.

Revisiting a childhood favorite
Revisado: 10-28-21
I originally read this book when I wad in middle school and had the urge to revisit it. I recommend reading The Outsiders first because this book has little references to that book but if you don't you won't miss out on anything except those little "Easter eggs." I didn't have a problem with skipping and the narrator was good and I felt the voice matched how the main character would sound.

How is the rating so high for this book?
Revisado: 06-30-21
I had high hopes considering all the positive reviews but was disappointed. The narrator is fine, I don't think her tone really matches the story. The story overall has too many holes and doesn't come together in a satisfying way.

Historia
Our love story is simple. I met a gorgeous woman. We fell in love. We had kids. We moved to the suburbs. We told each other our biggest dreams and our darkest secrets. And then we got bored. We look like a normal couple. We're your neighbors, the parents of your kid's friend, the acquaintances with whom you keep meaning to get dinner. We all have our secrets to keeping a marriage alive. Ours just happens to be getting away with murder.

This is what Dexter should have been
Revisado: 06-21-21
I liked the premise of Dexter but wasn't impressed with the books, this is what Dexter should have been. Keeps you interested without any hard parts to get through and you don't see the ending/twist coming. There are certain parts I don't think are very realistic but not enough to distract from the story as a whole. Definitely one of the better books I've found so far and would be interested in reading more from this author.

Pointless. Don't waste a credit.
Revisado: 06-07-21
I wanted to check out more Kepnes after getting into the You series and ended up wasting a few hours hoping this book would get better. It's a few hours of 3 different characters whining with no conclusion. The author doesn't clarify things an engaged reader might question like how the "old" cop Eggs reads like he could be 95 years old yet is still working and had an 8 year old child 2/3 years ago. I should have bailed when the story line kept jumping forward by 1-5 years at a time.

Here's a drinking game to help you finish the book
Revisado: 11-21-20
Despite the amazing narrator, I decided I disliked this book so much I couldn't fit all my negative thoughts into a short review. So if you made the mistake of buying this book try this drinking game to follow along and get through the repeated words. Warning: Not even the heaviest drinker should attempt this.
Drink everytime you hear the following words/phrases: Clouds, floods, baby teeth, God, flesh, in his minds eye, Special Ed, Jerry, the flu that wasn't the flu, tree house, blue moon,
Liver Killer Mode! Drink everytime you hear: Deer, The hissing lady, the nice man, mail box people, Christopher's mother, the sheriff, the cool side of the pillow,
