One of my favorite books this year
Revisado: 12-06-24
I listen to over 100 books a year and few are biographies. I don’t know how I needed up finding this book, and I didn’t have high expectations- but I loved it. It was well written and narrated - and fascinating, I am awed and inspired by Jenny Churchill. I sincerely hope others listen to this excellent book.

Historia
P.G. Wodehouse documented the lives of the inimitable Jeeves and Wooster for nearly sixty years, from their first appearance in 1915 ("Extricating Young Gussie") to his final completed novel (Aunts Aren't Gentlemen) in 1974. These two were the finest creations of a novelist widely proclaimed to be the finest comic English writer by critics and fans alike. Now, forty years later, Bertie and Jeeves return in a hilarious affair of mix-ups and mishaps.

Great happy ending to series
Revisado: 08-30-24
I was hesitant to read(listen) this book, since I adore the original Wodehouse books and listen to them over and over. I bought this ages ago and finally gave it a listen- and I am so glad I did. The author did a great job and I find the ending was perfect.

Revisado: 02-08-24
Great short listen about how to make sourdough. Coates’ narration is especially enjoyable. I haven’t tried to make sourdough yet, but I no longer feel (as) intimidated. Even if I never make bread, I’m glad I listened to this book. It was a real treat.
Wish I could find more on the author. The website didn’t work for me - would love to find his IG page if he has one.

Toni and Agatha are in the car on the way to Officer Bill Wong’s long-awaited wedding when, much to their shock, a naked young man bursts through a hedge on the side of the road and comes running toward them. Terrified, he explains that he has just seen a dead body in the woods. Toni lends him an old t-shirt to cover himself, Agatha calls the police, and the young man takes them to the spot where he saw the body, across from a meadow where the Mircester Naturist Club is due to have its annual summer barbecue.

Worth the slow start
Revisado: 04-02-18
I almost stopped listening to this in the first few hours. I felt it was moving slowly and I wasn’t really liking the characters. I’m glad I kept with it. I enjoyed the last several hours immensely- by the last 3 hrs, I was trying to listen any chance I could. Overall, I thought this was a very good book and am glad to have listened. (Tip, keep in mind, the book goes between WWII and apx 1999/2000. There were parts where I would get frustrated that someone in 1999/2000 didn’t look something up online/use a cell phone- then remembered neither were what they are now back in 2000).

Something was wrong with narration
Revisado: 11-17-15
I don 't know if it was the narrator or editor- but the pace was too fast. Either the narrator was trying to break a speed narration record or the speed in which she recorded this was altered and sped up. Either way, it was very unpleasant. It felt like Ms. Dobbs was in amphetamines! Otherwise, it was a good story.
