This was a great look into the accident in Chernobyl. It had a good mix of the pure facts along with empathy for the people who lost their lives and had their lives dramatically changed by what had happened.

Amazing, Informative, and Empathetic

The narrator for this book did a fantastic job, first of all. His narration was smooth and clear. The author did an amazing job of putting together the details of Jim Jones and Peoples Temple. It was handled empathetically, showing the victims as smart, caring, and hardworking people who fell for the charms of the manipulative Jim Jones. Jim Jones was a complex man, and this book does a great job of showing his complexity, charm, and intelligence. I really empathize with the victims. Jones did a lot of great things, such as helping feed and clothe the poor and fighting for racial equality. It is easy to see how people admired him. The tragic thing is that Jim Jones was not actually a good person, but rather one who manipulated and used other people for his own benefit. And, of course, ultimately ended up murdering a large portion of his followers. While some did commit suicide willingly, an unfortunate amount was forced to take the poison. I quite literally had chills when reading this, and I did feel like crying a few times. It is a fascinating, but very sad story. I definitely recommend it to fans of true crime.

Incredible book. The writing is smooth and the characters are complex. The setting feels dark and magical, just the way it should. It really does feel like a messed up fairy tale. I love it!

Vonnegut never disappoints me. His stories are always so engaging and thoughtful. The narrator of this audiobook really adds to the story too, his narration is perfect. Highly recommend this one. :)

The narrator did a great job. It was really interesting to hear about this view on economics. I can't speak for how accurate the results of the studies might be, but they sound grounded in logic. It's definitely worth considering these takes on economics. A fun read.

First of all, the narration was fantastic. I did think the book was really slow at first, but it began really picking up speed towards the end. I did not see the twist coming and I thought it was clever. Not bad!

The narration was really well done. George Guidall really nailed the characters and tone of the story. As for the book, the plot was interesting and the characters were complex. This is easily one of the best sci fi novels I have read.
