Historia
Andie Stern thought she'd solved her final homicide. Once a budding FBI profiler, she gave up her career to raise her four (soon to be five) children in West Windsor, New Jersey. But one day, between soccer games, recitals, and trips to the local pool, a very pregnant Andie pulls into a gas station—and stumbles across a murder scene. An attendant has been killed, and the local cops are in over their heads. Suddenly, Andie is obsessed with the case, and back on the trail of a killer, this time with kids in tow.

Twisty and somewhat twisted story. A completely new perspective with flawed and interesting characters.
Loved Andrea and loved that she is presented as flawed as the other characters

Somehow I missed this in my Emily Pollifax journey.
Very enjoyable, exciting and fun read. As always, need to suspend my ‘reality’ critic but thoroughly enjoyed it.

Historia
Bunny McGarry is back – and he’d really like a nice holiday. Somewhere with hot weather and cold drinks that come with little umbrellas for reasons he never understood. A certain nun has other ideas though and instead, he finds himself dispatched to London to find Sean Malone, a runaway teenager who doesn’t know his mother hasn’t got long left to live. The only leads Bunny has are a last-known address for the deadbeat dad Sean had gone in search of, and some letters the teenager had sent to his mum, one of which included a picture of him with the current heavyweight champion of the world.

The characters and the outrageous situations
Revisado: 12-13-24
In a series of completely over the top characters and even more outrageous actions, Fortunate Son tops them all.
I have no idea how Caimh comes up with his ideas or how he strings the story together but I love going on the crazy roller coaster of his story.
Fortunate Son has more heartbreak along with the wild and funny story than previous Bunny escapades.
Thoroughly enjoyed this and will enjoy my re-listens.

All Mrs. Pollifax has to do is help a bumbling CIA agent confirm the identities of seven undercover informants in Morocco. A simple assignment. But right away, things go wrong. The first informant is murdered just after Mrs. P. identifies him in Fez. Worse, she has the frightening sensation that her associate is not who or what he says he is.

Historia
Georgie, back home at her estate in Eynsleigh, impatiently awaits the birth of her baby. But she has plenty to occupy her: Her new chef, Pierre, has arrived from Paris, and Sir Hubert, who owns Eynsleigh, is back from his latest expedition. It's time for Georgie to throw her first house party to celebrate his return and show off her new chef. The dinner party is a smashing success. Sir Mortimer Mordred—famous author of creepy Gothic horror novels—is one of the guests. He recently purchased a nearby Elizabethan manor nearby because it has a famous poison garden.

Disappointing; dreadful narration
Revisado: 04-29-24
Overly exaggerated narration; incredibly irritating; made a silly, ridiculous story far worse.
I had given up on this series and foolishly gave in to try ‘just one more’ hoping for the fun of the early series.
More fool me.
Hard to imagine a worse narrator.

Historia
Fiona, Sue, and Daisy, three retired ladies who volunteer at the local charity shop, Dogs Need Nice Homes, can’t believe their favorite customer is dead. Eighty-six-year-old Sarah Brown was found murdered in her hallway by her delivery man, a domino clutched in her hand—with a name scratched on it. When another person is found dead with a domino in their hand, and with the police making no progress, the ladies will need to help unmask a serial killer. At least they have Fiona’s scruffy-haired terrier cross to assist them.

Tedious listen
Revisado: 04-11-24
Overlong; repetitive; tedious and Fiona became ever more boring and irritating as it went along.
About Chapter 55 I gave up, realizing each chapter was essentially a repeat with a different character or two.
Will not read another and cannot understand the positive reviews or the comparisons to other cozy stories I have enjoyed

Historia
The story opens with the apparently accidental drowning of a sixth form student in the Norfolk countryside. As a matter of routine, or so it seems, the case passes across the desk of Detective Sergeant Smith, recently returned to work after an internal investigation into another case that has led to tensions between officers at Kings Lake police headquarters. As an ex-DCI, Smith could have retired by now, and it is clear that some of his superiors wish that he would do so.

Historia
In the peace and tranquility of the woods at Pinehills on a Saturday afternoon, a mobile phone begins to ring. The phone belongs to DC Smith, and it isn't unusual that the call is from Kings Lake Central police station; what is unusual is the fact that he seems to be the subject of an investigation rather than taking part in one. What can the links be between a prisoner's violent death in another county, the disappearance of two teenagers, and the highest profile case in Kings Lake for many years?

Excellent Series Continuation
Revisado: 02-16-24
The series continues to be my favorite. Love the character development and the view into an investigation.
Not sure how Peter Grainger developed his insight into the thoughts and emotions of his lead character, DC Smith, but it adds so much to the story.
Gildart Jackson continues to be my favorite narrator.

Historia
Dorothy Graham is dead, which is inconvenient, not least for her. Luckily, she has planned for this eventuality. Now, if any of the truly dreadful people she is related to want to get their hands on her money, they’re going to have to do so via a fiendish difficult and frankly bizarre competition of Dorothy’s devising. After all, just because you’re dead, it doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy a last laugh at the expense of people who made your life miserable.

Love this continuation of Paul and Bridget’s story. It’s wildly unbelievable and has many many story threads but a re-listen helped me get through a truly miserable flu.
Most of the voices are spot-on but a couple bit characters are truly irritating, hence the 4-star rating
Love love love the voice of Jimmie, though

Historia
Vampires do not exist. Everyone knows this. So it's particularly annoying when they start popping up around Manchester. Nobody is pleased about it. Not the Founders, the secret organisation for whom vampires were invented as an allegory, nor the Folk, the magical people hidden in plain sight who only want a quiet life. And definitely not the people of Manchester, because there is nothing more irksome than being murdered by an allegory run amok. Somebody needs to sort this out fast before all hell really breaks loose - step forward the staff of The Stranger Times.

Love this more the 2nd time
Revisado: 12-02-22
Not necessarily a fan of sci-go or fantasy but enjoyed this Eve more on the 2nd listen.
Brendon is a fantastic narrator, bringing the characters to life vividly. The sarcastic humor throughout adds to the completely over-the-top story.
Just wish CK (or Caimh) would write more quickly.
No spoilers and frankly can’t do justice to the wild wackiness of the story in short
