Great read!

I loved this book! I was hesitant to read it because FB portrayed it to be like Hunger Games, and I don’t like reading something too similar to something I’ve previously read. Much to my pleasure, it wasn’t like it AT ALL! It was a fresh story all of its own. Loved loved loved it & the end def leave me wanting to dig deeper and find out more behind the mysteries! I’m usually very good at guessing the end, but this end caught me off guard and I loved every second of it! Just purchased the 2nd one and will be starting it right now!

I’ve been waiting for the 2nd book, and it did NOT disappoint!!!! It was so good, and I didn’t expect the twists that came! Loved getting to know Fallon and watch her knowledge grow and loved that the author didn’t forget everyone that we held dear to our hearts in the last book! Loved the “bad assery & unitedness” of the family & loved ones! GREAT 2nd book to the 1st Nora! Most sequels I’ve read lately have dragged or gotten depressing and this did neither, it did a great job of keeping the desire to fight alive, and with it, my desire to keep reading to see how they’ll band together and fight for their survival and futures together. Also, loved the narrator. She did great differentiating the tones and pitches and keeping it all flowing nicely.

At first I was like...what the heck am I listening to?! But Omgsh it got SO good!!! They should make a move out of this book! I’d LOVE to watch it!

Great insight as to what an outbreak of a zombie-like disease would kind of be like, but it was dreadfully slow and I almost feel like I wasted my time reading so much stuff when finally the exciting part happened in literally the last sentence of the book. They could’ve answered at least a few questions regarding the girl in this book and still left us excited to read the next one, I’m now afraid to read the next one because I’ll be upset if I waste my time listening to a bunch of chapters just to get to the juicy part in the last chapter again.

LOVED IT...I need more ASAP!

Loved the story, loved the characters, and absolutely can’t wait to see what happens next! With so many questions left open, book #2 can’t come soon enough! I liked that each persons power had been perfected, so they weren’t like children when using them, they had perfected them, and are able to do big things with just a flick of the wrist, truly like someone that has lived with it their whole lives.

As far as the narration, I loved the accents and voices of each character, but wasn’t too crazy about the monotone voice that everything else was read in.

If you listen to the negative reviews you’ll miss out! Absolutely LOVED this book and the cliffhanger has me screaming! Where’s number three?!?! I do hope to see more of Temper in it, maybe some bff double date villain-ass whooping chapters?! Love that the characters are so guarded but when they love, wow, they love fiercely and true! Looking forward to the next book for sure!

DO NOT START BEFORE BEDTIME

I made the mistake of starting the book before bed....binged listened to it and finally turned it off around chapter 24! Such an AWESOME book!!! Listened to all 72 chapters in 2.5 days! You won’t be disappointed. I loved the descriptions of people trying to understand the world from before too, when referring to a woman in a nude magazine a character “...wondered if women back then really looked like that, really had that texture and all, none that he’d ever seen now did...”, (referring to our use of photoshop). The author did a great job of describing the world they now lived and what they could of the world of “the past”.
