Outstandingly crafted and performed!!
Revisado: 02-09-24
Tolkien has crafted a masterpiece in The Fellowship of the Ring. Purposeful, engaging and articulate, the reader/listener is participant in Frodo’s journey through Middle Earth. Danger, adventure and even humor are woven with intelligent design to create a world and epic story believable and delightful. Inglis is likewise masterful in his narrative performance; his voice defines the bounds of childhood fondly for all our five children and has become inextricably linked with Tolkien’s works in our memory. Outstandingly crafted and executed!

Historia
Francis Parkman's journal - written more than 150 years ago, in 1846 - provides an eye-witness account of one of the grandest adventures in American history. At age 23, the Harvard-educated Bostonian traveled the Rocky Mountains, living among the Dakota Sioux. In his journal, he captured the color, spirit, and perspective of his era, as well as the exuberant confidence that was the mark of his time. Frank Muller's dramatic reading brings this captivating record to life.

Beautifully written

Was hoping for more of a descriptive experience of moving from Midwest to the Oregon farmland of western Oregon, but this was an interesting portrayal of life among the plains Indians and frontier life throughout Kansas, Nebraska, Wyoming and Colorado in 1846. I found this enjoyable.

I thoroughly enjoyed this second book in the Queen’s Thief series! More complex even than the first in the entanglements of the kingdoms, it was both created and read in a way that answers each question raised and kept me eager for more throughout! Excellent book!

Masterful!!!
Revisado: 01-03-23
Outstanding achievement in the depth of the story, the loose ends tied up appropriately and without force by the end and, most of all, in the creativity and dimension of the storyline itself! The narrator phenomenally portrayed a wide variety of creatures and languages in a way that made following the story both easy and enchanting. Fantastic fantasy in every way!

How did Fidel Castro fool the CIA for a generation? Why did Neville Chamberlain think he could trust Adolf Hitler? Why are campus sexual assaults on the rise? Do television sitcoms teach us something about the way we relate to each other that isn't true? While tackling these questions, Malcolm Gladwell was not solely writing a book for the page. He was also producing for the ear. In the audiobook version of Talking to Strangers, you’ll hear the voices of people he interviewed - scientists, criminologists, military psychologists.
