Historia
Lisa Wingate has been favorably compared to authors Nicholas Sparks and Richard Paul Evans. In A Month of Summer, Hanna Beth has been caring for her aging husband - who suffers from Alzheimer's - and her developmentally challenged adult son for years on her own. But when she suffers a stroke, estranged stepdaughter Rebecca must take the reins. As she cares for her father and the step-brother she's barely met, Rebecca slowly begins to heal both herself and her family.

the narration was fantastic! the story may be a bit slow in the beginning, but the rest of the story makes it worthwhile.

you will be constantly amazed at the twists and turns in this book. As it starts out, you think you know how the book will go. But, it is so far from the quiet girll in the beginning. Truly a page turner.

Historia
The year 1996 was the one that changed everything for Maggie Dawes. Sent away at 16 to live with an aunt she barely knew in Ocracoke, a remote village on North Carolina’s Outer Banks, she could think only of the friends and family she left behind...until she met Bryce Trickett, one of the few teenagers on the island. Handsome, genuine, and newly admitted to West Point, Bryce showed her how much there was to love about the wind-swept beach town - and introduced her to photography, a passion that would define the rest of her life. By 2019, Maggie is a renowned travel photographer.

great narrators! great story!
Revisado: 08-12-22
I saw other negative reviews on female narrator, but I don't understand why. she is awesome! sounds like a teenager at appropriate times. sounds like an illl woman when needed, and sounds like the older aunt. it is a page turner. I listened to the 11 hr book in just 2 days! Mr. Sparks said it is his best book, I disagree with that, but it is in his top 5. it may be a slow start, but SO worth the end.

Historia
It's 1949. When war veteran Aloysius Archer is released from Carderock Prison, he is sent to Poca City on parole with a short list of dos and a much longer list of don'ts: do report regularly to his parole officer, don't go to bars, certainly don't drink alcohol, do get a job - and don't ever associate with loose women. The small town quickly proves more complicated and dangerous than Archer's years serving in the war or his time in jail.

this is book 4 in a series. I hope there will be a book 5. Love this narrator. Without his great work, the book wouldn't be the same. But be prepared for some difficult, gory sections.

From New York Times best-selling author Joanne DeMaio comes a love story set at a tucked-away cottage by the sea. For Mack and Avery Martinelli, the summer is their oyster. They can spend all day on the beach, or not. Cruise the dusty beach roads, or never leave their deck overlooking Long Island Sound. Fill their itinerary with excursions on the Connecticut shore, or while away the hours in a shingled cottage. Every decision this week is theirs to make.

story is about covid
Revisado: 02-17-21
If you want to listen to a book to get covid out of your mind, avoid this book. The story is not bad, but not great. There is a second book, but I probably won't buy it. For the price, just remember it is a novella, so just a few hours long.

On Big Sawyer island, life is as steady as the routine of the lobstermen who leave with the tide each morning and return with their haul each night. But for 40-year-old New Yorker Julia Bechtel, life and what’s important in it are about to be forever altered when she survives a terrible boat accident en route to the island. Now, in the company of her aunt and daughter, Julia finds herself feeling strangely connected to the tragedy’s other survivors - Noah, a divorced lobsterman, and Kim, a young woman rendered mute since her rescue - and newly outraged at the state of her marriage....

I read this in hardback, then in paperback a few years later. Now I have listened twice! Awesome book! Especially for anyone with a controlling husband. (mine is great!) when I read this book, I feel like I am living the life of the main character.
