Historia
Four decades after it first shook the nation, then the world, William Peter Blatty's thrilling masterwork of faith and demonic possession returns in an even more powerful form. Raw and profane, shocking and blood-chilling, it remains a modern parable of good and evil and perhaps the most terrifying novel ever written.

A masterpiece.

One of the best novels I’ve read in a while. Haunting, brutal, and finally, touching. It’s an achievement.

Historia
The original teleplay that became the classic Star Trek episode, with an expanded introductory essay by Harlan Ellison, The City on the Edge of Forever has been surrounded by controversy since the airing of an "eviscerated" version - which subsequently has been voted the most beloved episode in the series' history. In its original form, The City on the Edge of Forever won the 1966-67 Writers Guild of America Award for Best Teleplay. As aired, it won the 1967 Hugo Award.

Vintage Harlan. Ya gotta love it.

We’ve all heard the stories behind this episode. Now Ellison sets the record straight as only he can. It’s a fun listen. You won’t regret it.

Historia
Orwell's own experiences inspire this semi-autobiographical novel about a man living in Paris in the early 1930s without a penny. The narrator's poverty brings him into contact with strange incidents and characters, which he manages to chronicle with great sensitivity and graphic power. The latter half of the book takes the English narrator to his home city, London, where the world of poverty is different in externals only.

An odd novel (worth the time though)
Revisado: 06-24-23
Orwell’s observations are the stuff of legend. This won’t do as an introduction, though. If you haven’t read 1984 or Animal Farm, start there.

Historia
The starship Earthling, filled with thousands of hibernating colonists en route to a new world at Tau Ceti, is stranded beyond the solar system when the ship's three organic mental cores—disembodied human brains that control the vessel's functions—go insane. The emergency skeleton crew sees only one chance for survival: build an artificial consciousness in the Earthling's primary computer that can guide them to their destination—and hope it doesn't destroy the human race.

Reads like a section to a longer novel
Revisado: 06-23-23
Not Herbert’s best. It’s an interesting concept, but that’s pretty much all. The novel is mostly a series of arguments between four characters. It does have a great ending, though.
