What was wrong with this narrator? While is voice was nice, he couldn't remember one of the main characters name?

Is all well that ends well?
Revisado: 11-25-18
The final installment of this delightful read/listen I’d love to know how this story came to her? The back and forth between Sarita Saint and her Angel friend, and the sheer will and patience of Boone, wow! But the audacity of Raymond Saint who put all this into motion in the first place, wanting to crawl his way back into Sarita’s life after all the chaos his selfishness caused was something. He really was full of himself and what he thought he was. These and other characters invite us into their lives so sit back and see how it all unfolds!
The author was the narrator and her voice was nice inflections where needed and I never heard her swallowing as she read.
I’d look forward to listening to anything else she decided to do. Great Job Cheryl!
I love everything you write Cheryl and this trilogy was no different. I don’t know how you do it but please don’t stop!

Great listen
Revisado: 10-11-17
This was a wonderful story. I enjoyed the narrator except for hearing her talking in the background as she stopped the recording.
Love, desire, loss, betrayal and finally healing
Though all the hurt she endured from her husband and the chaos that ensued when she took matters into her own hands! To finding out she wasn’t as innocent as she seemed! Love, marriage is hard but cheating is harder; too much work to cover the lies you have to tell. I never expected some of the things that happened, but that’s what makes a great story. This was my first read by this author, but not my last!

Historia
In pitch-perfect voices, Kathryn Stockett creates three extraordinary women whose determination to start a movement of their own forever changes a town, and the way women—mothers, daughters, caregivers, friends—view one another. A deeply moving novel filled with poignancy, humor, and hope, The Help is a timeless and universal story about the lines we abide by, and the ones we don't.

I must admit I saw the movie first, and enjoyed it, but I know the book gives you more than a 2hr movie can. So I have to saw I really love this title, I loved listening to the women make this book come alive! A very well written story describing the love hate relationship of the southern domestics and their employers, during a time our country was in turmoil. I’m glad I made the purchase!

Historia
Sixteen-year-old Starr Carter moves between two worlds: the poor neighborhood where she lives and the fancy suburban prep school she attends. The uneasy balance between these worlds is shattered when Starr witnesses the fatal shooting of her childhood best friend Khalil at the hands of a police officer. Khalil was unarmed. Soon afterward, his death is a national headline. Some are calling him a thug, maybe even a drug dealer and a gangbanger. Protesters are taking to the streets in Khalil’s name.

One day a change will come!
Revisado: 04-24-17
Very good story about the turmoil between African Americans and local police misconceptions of eminent danger! The narrator was good and the story flowed well! Reminding us to always use our voice when you see wrong doing. Not catering to the idea of snitches get stitches! If we all continue to keep quiet, neighborhood by neighborhood will start to disappear! A change has got to come!

Historia
One of the most remarkable autobiographies of our time, Manchild in the Promised Land is a seminal work of modern literature published during a literary era marked by the ascendance of black writers like Richard Wright, Ralph Ellison, James Baldwin, and Alex Haley. This thinly fictionalized account of Claude Brown’s childhood as a hardened, streetwise criminal trying to survive the toughest streets of Harlem has been heralded as the definitive account of everyday life for African Americans raised in the northern ghettos of the 1940s and ’50s.

Revisado: 04-10-17
Very good book, I remember reading it from my childhood. Cary Hite has the perfect voice, he provided imagery and depth to the different characters, growing up in their Harlem hood! With obstacles, and situations that each character faced. Thank you for bringing one of my favorite books to life!

A downward spiral
Revisado: 09-24-16
This was a first for me, forcing myself to finish a title. The storyline was decent, but the narrator with her lisp and mispronounced words made my head hurt! I pray the author makes a better choice for narrators for future titles!

They all fall down!
Revisado: 10-25-15
I really enjoyed the 2nd installment in this trilogy. My only complaint was that there were so many characters to keep up with, found myself a little confused sometimes and rewinding to make sure! I love the narrator, have listened to many done by him, but I felt he kinda added to my confusion! With all that being said I still enjoyed the storyline and was very sad when Lonnie was killed, but hopefully Mr. Jordan Gatewood will get what's coming to him!
