I really enjoyed listening to this book. I couldn't help but like Odd Thomas. What an interesting character. I listened to this on a long cross country road trip with some friends. This was the favorite book of us all.

Historia
This extraordinary, magical novel is the story of Clare, a beautiful art student, and Henry, a librarian, who have known each other since Clare was six and Henry was 36, and were married when Clare was 22 and Henry 30. Impossible but true, because Henry has Chrono-Displacement Disorder: periodically his genetic clock resets and he finds himself misplaced in time, pulled to moments of emotional gravity in his past, present, and future.

This book started out interesting. The ideas were good. The story idea was interesting. Then it just got boreing. I listened to this on a cross country road trip with two friends. We never did finish it, because by the last two thrids of the book, we just lost interest. It is too bad, because I had hoped it would be a great book that we would all enjoy. Instead we all had fun making fun of it, and moved on to another book. We never did finish this one, and I don't really care to.

Late one night, exploring her father's library, a young woman finds an ancient book and a cache of yellowing letters. The letters are all addressed to "My dear and unfortunate successor", and they plunge her into a world she never dreamed of: a labyrinth where the secrets of her father's past and her mother's mysterious fate connect to an inconceivable evil hidden in the depths of history.

This was a really good book. It is comparable to Braum Strokers Dracula. It is origional, interesting and worth the credit. I will listen to it again one day. This one will stay in my library.

Historia
People start dropping dead around Charlie, giant ravens perch on his building, and it seems that everywhere he goes, a dark presence whispers to him from under the streets. Strange names start appearing on his nightstand notepad, and before he knows it, those people end up dead, too. Yup, it seems that Charlie Asher has been recruited for a new job, an unpleasant but utterly necessary one: Death.

I loved it. This book was witty, fun, full of kooky characters. This story was silly, lighthearted and I couldn't stop listening. It is like Tales from the Crypt meets the X-flies. If you like campy, fun paranormal filled stories..this one is a blast!

Historia
Leo Tolstoy's sweeping epic describes Russia between 1805 and 1820, centering on the 1812 invasion of Napoleon's army and the Russian resistance to it. The novel has over 500 characters, all carefully rendered, who cover every social level from the nobility to the peasantry. The main characters include Natasha Rostova, Prince Andrey Bolkonsky, and Pierre Bezukhov, all of whom progress from youthful uncertainties toward maturity. Tolstoy himself was born 16 years after the invasion and grew up in a Russia that was still recovering from the carnage.

ugh-don't waste your credit
Revisado: 01-25-07
So I thought that since this book was a classic, and it is very long I thought I would give it a chance. I had a long solitary job ahead of me, and needed a good story to suck me in and help me pass the time. I thought they couldn't possibly get longer than this one! I was bored out of my skull. I would rather listen to silence. After three hours, I just turned it off. This book is the most boring, snobby, uninteresting book I have ever tried to read or listen to. I immediately erased it. I am sorry I wasted my time and credits. If you want a good book, look elsewhere. This one is HIGHLY overrated. I would have given it NO STARS if it would let me. Ignore the one star. This one is a dud.

Very good book
Revisado: 01-25-07
I had to start this book over the first time I listened. The reader came across as a little grating at first. Snooty sounding maybe? I don't know, something about it just could not keep my attention. After about 45 min, I gave up. The next day I listened without distractions. This time I was sucked right in! As it turns out, the book is wonderful. Full of depth, interesting characters and subplots. I am glad I gave it a second chance. I would highly recommend this book. Sit back, and settle in for a good ride.

Brother Odd was better than Forever Odd. Forever Odd was pretty good, and Odd Thomas was still the best one. All and all, the series is entertaining, and worth listening to. I might even listen to it again one day.

Historia
Returning to the territory he so brilliantly explored in his masterful New York Times best seller American Gods, the incomparable Neil Gaiman offers up a work of dazzling ingenuity, a kaleidoscopic journey deep into myth that is at once startling, terrifying, exhilarating, and fiercely funny, a true wonder of a novel that confirms Stephen King's glowing assessment of the author as "a treasure house of story, and we are lucky to have him."

I really expected this to be an outstanding book. It was really strange and not up to the hype. This book will pass the time, but it is not something that grabs you and won't let go.

Historia
Every so often a character so captures the hearts and imaginations of listeners that he seems to take on a life of his own long after the final chapter. For such a character, one book is not enough—listeners must know what happens next. Now Dean Koontz returns with the novel his fans have been demanding. With the emotional power and sheer storytelling artistry that are his trademarks, Koontz takes up once more the story of a unique young hero and an eccentric little town in a tale that is equal parts suspense and terror, adventure and mystery—and altogether irresistibly odd.

Good but not great
Revisado: 02-06-06
This book was not as good as Odd Thomas. I agree that Dean Koontz should write more stories about Odd Thomas, and he left the ending ready to add book three. This story was much weaker than the first, but entertaining enough to listen to the whole story. All in all, this is a good story, but nothing great. I hope the next book is much better.

Historia
In lower Manhattan, a charnel pit of horror is uncovered: the remains of 36 people murdered and gruesomely dismembered over 130 years ago by an unknown serial killer. Just as a museum archaeologist and an enigmatic FBI agent begin to unravel the clues to the killings, a fresh spree of copy-cat murders and surgical mutilation erupts around them. Mixing science and terror in a way only they can, Preston and Child deliver a novel that's as gruesome as it is enthralling.
