This book served as a reminder to keep going, rest when needed, know that God's got his unchanging hand on your life, and how to stay balanced. Joel's voice was so calm and encouraging. I loved that he was the narrator for his book! I listened to this book at the start of my mornings and couldn't press pause because it was soooo good. I needed every reminder to be my best self. Thank you, Joel Osteen!

I have read several grief books and they were all great, but this one sucks. I tried to give it a chance and made it through Chapter 15. The author basically told me over and over how I was feeling and it seemed forced. There was also an unhelpful question at the end of every chapter. The chapters ended super fast to the point where I felt like I didn't gain anything from it. The narrator was horrible. I've read books that confirmed my emotions and all that, but this one does it in the most annoying, uncomforting way. It doesn't help at all. I already know how I feel. If there are tips in this book, I wouldn't know it because it was too painful to listen to the words. I definitely want a refund. I could've used my credits on something better. Finding Meaning by David Kessler was by far the best book I've read on grief amongst other authors.

I loved how this author provided different scenarios of grief stories to tie his points together. It helped to know what others have experienced to receive insight into how a situation could be dealt with. I also appreciate the fact that David did not leave out the important parts of his very own grief story to connect to the reader. This book was very uplifting and easy to listen to. I eventually looked up the authors' website called grief.com and found other helpful information. This wasn't a book about how grief would make you feel in the beginning stages but rather a book about finding meaning in your loss. I think of ways to find meaning often, and this book was my aid in that. Thank you, Mr. Kessler.

Viola was the best person to narrate her very own memior. Her story was great to listen to. She did a great job of grasping the listeners attention. This book sucked me in right away and I learned alot about her life and struggles along the way. This book creates an understanding of the acting world as well as the journey of a strong black woman who may have felt the opposite many times. I love Viola's story. This was hands down, an awesome listening experience.

Not only is this and awesome story that I had to dive into for my college course, its just as good as the film. This is the first time I've actually enjoyed a narrator read to me! She played the character roles well & used different voices to bring the characters to life. I plan to use this in the future when I become a teacher.

I recommend this book for anyone who is experiencing the journey of grief. It somehow validated my feelings and made me feel as if someone actually understands & I am not crazy after all.
