Historia
Nearly half of US citizens over the age of 85 are suffering from some kind of dementia and require care. Loving Someone Who Has Dementia is a new kind of caregiving book. It's not about the usual techniques, but about how to manage on-going stress and grief. The book is for caregivers, family members, friends, and neighbors, as well as educators and professionals - anyone touched by the epidemic of dementia. Dr. Boss helps caregivers find hope in "ambiguous loss" - having a loved one both here and not here, physically present but psychologically absent.

Credible help for caregivers
Revisado: 05-19-24
I appreciated that the author had personal experience and was a therapist. As a caregiver, I felt validated in what I was going through. Now I am better able to define my experience.

These days, most people assume you need to pay a boatload of money for a quality college education. As a result, students and their parents are willing to go into years of debt and potentially sabotage their financial futures just to get a fancy name on a diploma. But Zac Bissonnette is walking proof that the assumption is not only false, but dangerous.

Convinced not to overpay for college!
Revisado: 03-24-15
I am convinced after reading this book that overpaying for a college education to attend the school of your dreams is not worth it. I like the research presented and the sometimes comical way arguments are presented. The narrator is easy to understand and not overly formal. Great information and entertaining!

Worth listening to again...
Revisado: 03-04-15
This book gives such great explanations and motivation to healthy eating that I plan to listen again. It helps me stay motivated while I am eating the way the authors recommend. I know exactly why I am doing it and what to expect on the journey.

Historia
Learn to find and play the role God wants most for you to play, not the ones you feel pressured into playing for the sake of others or even our sense of accomplishment and worth. Most of us spend a lot of our lives figuring out when to say yes and when to say no. How to manage our time, reduce stress, do our best for our families, find a little space for "me". But we don't find space for our souls until we learn to step past the yes and no of daily decisions and seek a third option: the best yes. The best yes is the choice that shapes all our other choices.

A talk with a best girlfriend
Revisado: 02-26-15
The book comes with helpful advice. Teurkerst's writing style is like girlfriend talk which is pleasing to the ear. I like her use of scripture. The book teaches common sense and didn't really bring my thoughts to a deep level. It was also a bit repetitive within the chapters. Overall it was a good book,
but not superior.
