I read this book to critique the narrator.

So, speaking in terms of just the narrator he has done quite a good job. his English accent is not to difficult for us across the pond to understand. My only suggestion would be to perhaps play around a bit with the representation of female voices. Many times I did not realize it was a woman speaking in the book. Other than that I think his narration is wonderful.
Now on the matter of the story itself, I actually had to go back and see who the author was, because I thought it may have been the same writer as the one who wrote World War Z.
This book is quite similar to World War Z, except condensed to one local area, and focused more on the experiences of individual people, where World War Z seemed to focus more on the aftereffects and the hows and whys of the Zombie plague.
Overall it was an enjoyable read, but if I am honest not much in the way of originality.
But, as I said before I read the book to critique the narrator and it's my opinion that he does a great job and makes the listening experience enjoyable.

Is this a sequel to the author's Extinction Series

Surely this has to be the follow up to the as of yet unfinished Extinction Cycle Series?
I mean it has to be right? Just toooo much of a coininc-I-dincy in the description of the "Sirens".
If it is I'm not sure I would have wanted to start this series as it kind of gives away what has to be part of the previous unfinished series.
oh well, in for a penny in for a pound.
Interesting take on dystopian post apocalyptic story. Well read. However I would have liked some back story as to how the "air" ships were made during a world war. Overall an interesting read, I'm gonna try the second in series and hope that some of the gaping holes are filled in.

great story just soooooo much unbelievable gore.

This is my second time through. Not sure why because eww I almost didnt finish the first try. The gore is horrific but the underlying story is good. honestly though this story creeps me out.

This is my second time through the series and I'm not a hundred percent sure what that means when it comes to my own constitution.
All I can say is don't even start the series unless you are comfortable with the hills have eyes type gore multiplied by about 100.
I would say that this is just a gore fest to read except that there is actually a fairly compelling story being told.
I'm not sure that it needs to be as graphic as it is, or what it says about me now that In on my second read through, but jeez louise I surely hope that this author just has a very very overactive sadistic imagination.
Normally I would not go for a book with this much extreme detailed horror, even though I read zombie books by the dozen lol, but as I said before; if you have an iron stomach and can see past the gore there is actually a really compelling story.
Don't say you weren't forewarned.

Good story as a path much different than my regular zombie fare. Be prepared for some revulsion cause jeez louise some of the descriptions are just, well my neck hurts just thinking about it.

I really struggled at first
I was really hoping I would love it but the first few chapters really left me wondering whether I should continue. Being a great fan of the author I held on and am glad I did. It really started to come together and become an entertaining read. I was a little disappointed at how abruptly it ended. Hoping there was an epilogue or some little hint to push me a bit further into the book. however it was a good read. Give it a chance I think you will like n.j it. Oh as always the narration is point on.

Will make you laugh. If you like this author and narration you must read the Indian Hill Series. One of the few books I was not able to predict the ending way too soon

Great zombie tale with Alien twist

I really like it so far, the alien twist wants to make it more interesting however its such a slow burner that its really just a zombie story with a mention of aliens. Hopefully the next book in the series will finally bring the alien part of the story into the tale and not leave us wondering if the author has just forgotten about that side of the story. I'm willing to listen to the next in series, just because its good just as a "zombie" tale. Hopefully the alien part will take it to the next level.

First one great, second ok, third kinda fizzled

1st off for everybody thinking this is a zombie trilogy or book it is not I know that a comes up in a list that includes zombie books but it is absolutely not is.
The book is more an alien book.
Without trying give too much away it starts out making you think it's going be a zombie books
, but very soon in you realize that's not the case.

I will have to admit that the 1st book was very interesting and had me Wanting to know more, the 2nd book,however, I don't know missed on so many points with their characters and somewhat convoluted spiritual/celestial leader. This book just was making so many decisions that worked counter intuitive to Save each other and the .
It just didn't work in the 3rd book. Honestly it's like he didn't know what to write.
He just needed to get it done in he really didn't leave anywhere to go.
It just kind of ended in this horrible new dystopian world after these people had fought so hard and lost so much and sort of instead of giving you and them some type of hope really just brought back into a focus how horrible the world was and continues to be.
Anyway I would suggest that u not spend your credits on these unless they're free go find another good book
