Narration was awesome. Story was pretty funny and carried a long nicely. Was genuinely sad when the ride was over

Historia
Jimmy Martin has a sore head. He's used to smuggling illegal data in his headspace. But this is the first time it has started talking to him. The data claims to be a distinguished academic, author and civil rights activist. It also claims to be a bear. A bear named Honey. Jimmy has nothing against bioforms–he's one himself, albeit one engineered out of human stock–and works with them everyday in Hell City, building the future, staking mankind's claim to a new world: Mars.

Just Lackluster All Around
Revisado: 05-15-23
The story was pretty slow and ultimately seemed a little pointless. The fact that SOMEONE didn't get the narrators on the same page as far as accents and pronunciation made this slow story even more awful. Just disappointing 😕

Historia
As a devastating hurricane approaches, as the benighted creations of Victor Helios begin to spin out of control, as New Orleans descends into chaos and the future of humanity hangs in the balance, the only hope rests with Victor's first, failed attempt to build the perfect human. Deucalion's centuries-old history began as the original manifestation of a soulless vision - and it is fated to end in the ultimate confrontation between a damned creature and his mad creator. But first they must face a monstrosity not even Victor's malignant mind could have conceived.

Not the best fit for the narrator
Revisado: 03-06-23
Narrator was good just out of his element trying to do southern and especially creole accents. Felt like he would've nailed it if the story was set in NY or up east somewhere. The story is a cool.take on an old classic. Not too heavy, funny banter and some interesting characters

Great narrator, potentially great characters...
Revisado: 08-28-22
Great narrator, potentially great characters, all stuck in a loooooong so so story. Premise seems cool and it starts off interestingly enough but eventually you just quit caring. The main character is a little whiny, constantly blaming herself for things fantastically out of her control. The suit she has is supposedly the most dangerous thing in the universe but can be destroyed easily enough by massive amounts of fire... Gun fire, camp fire, rocket fire or nuclear fire. Doesn't matter which fire, just enough fire... Oh, and the aliens knew where it was all along but left it there, sealed up for I dunno what reasons.

Especially good ending, nice lil wrap up. My only problem with this story was the narrators main voice kinda blended into his other male character impersonations so at times it could be hard to KNOW who exactly is talking until some context was given. Other than that, great book, good listen

I find these characters hard to be interested in. Even now, I struggle to write anything meaningful about them. In the 1st book, Victor was the cowardly lion/whiny little brother who somehow passed the mental exams to be a fighter pilot?! In the second book, this role was filled by the girlfriend, whatever her name was, who was much more capable, but still a needy 3rd wheel. She was basically there to get into enough trouble to be worried about. A worthy distraction from our heroes' true mission kinda thing. I liked the premise of the books and of course RC is great just lack of any character depth made me struggle to finish

Poorly narrated LOTR rip-off
Revisado: 10-20-21
Title pretty much says it all. The storyline is almost blatant plagiarism of Tolkien and the narration is awful. The narrator is way over the top with his reading and there is only one voice for all characters and for some reason the accents seem to change from an old American man to a American trying badly to sound Scottish to an American soundly vaguely english, but in no discernible way. Couldn't finish

Didn't much care for this book. It was hard to go from RC Bray to this guy in the 2nd book and even harder to live with it in the 3rd. Story got real pointless and repetitive. And where it's not repetitive, it's flat out ridiculous

Good listen if you can get past the fact that it isn't RC Bray which I think is a fair shock to anyone. New guy does an admirable job trying to follow up a living legend tho. Story followed suit right where the 1st one left off. Ultimately I enjoyed it
