I loved the stories shared that resonated with me and my life. The experience of the love and hurt we find in the church. Absolutely loved the reminders of the Black Church covered in the Epilogue. It brought back great memories of being raised in the Black Church where we were respected encouraged and loved. Thank you for sharing.

Authentically Real

I enjoyed the authentic discussion of the Christian life as it is truly experienced rather than with false promises of a perfect life. I enjoyed the real life examples provided with each lesson shared. I praise God for His sovereign will and the fact that I belong to Him and that takes a lot of pressure off of me. I enjoyed hearing the details that covered so many years of historical events that have led us to this point. I have hope as an African American, knowing that this book was written by a white Christian! Who could better speak to this than someone like him. I pray that this book can get in the hands of every white Christian leader so they can understand the truth of our history and why we as African Americans feel like we do! At 68 almost 69 it would take a miracle for me to see racism eradicated in my lifetime but maybe in my grandchild’s lifetime since I do believe in miracles.
