The story and characters are wonderful but the reader keeping all the accents in order? Brilliant! it is Christian romance and I really enjoyed the series.

I have a hard time reviewing the actual story because the narration was too distracting.

witty and fun
Revisado: 09-16-18
This is exactly the type of romance I love. full of witt and loveable characters. it was also really well performed. I loved both Chase and Alex and the inventiveness surrounding the two girls had me laughing out loud much of the book.

Historia
Desperation has led Anne-Sophia Duncombe to a life of exile. Still, she is always just one mistake away from capture and a marriage she would rather die than endure. As a last resort to remain hidden from her former life, Sophia attempts a radical scheme: a life of humility and disguise. Rumor has it that Wilhelm Montegue, the Earl of Devon, is insane. A tormented war hero haunted by scandal, he is only tolerated because of his brilliant mind and swarthy good looks.

my favorite to reread
Revisado: 09-05-18
I just adore this book. There are so many cookie cutter Regency romance books with half baked or half wit characters, these two were not. They are intentionally written as unusual for their time and while I don't fully research what is or is not appropriate, I dont care. Our heroine is intelligent and patient, curious and brave. Her back and forth with the hero is delightfully written. is it totally believable? er... no. I still don't care. The characters are everything and I fell in love with them both. I don't t tend to reread books but these two I like to revisit from time to time. the reader did a delightful job with the heroine. If you like strong female leads and broken but fierce heros and also intelligent writing, I predict you will love this one. If you are a history buff and deviations make you twitch, maybe this isn't for you.

Historia
Adair Thorne has just watched his gaming-hell dream disappear into a blaze of fire and ash, and he’s certain that his competitors, the Killorans, are behind it. His fury and passion burn even hotter when he meets Cleopatra Killoran, a tart-mouthed vixen who mocks him at every turn. If she were anyone else but the enemy, she’d ignite a desire in him that would be impossible to control. No one can make Cleopatra do anything. That said, she’ll do whatever it takes to protect her siblings—even if that means being sponsored by their rivals for a season in order to land a noble husband.

a lot of this book just seemed forced. I was not really convinced of these 2 and had many eye roll moments. maybe the reading in the super deep voice contributed to the grating on my nerves. sorry. not my thing.

Not as good as first
Revisado: 02-04-18
I have never read an original Sherlock Holmes and have never read any other mystery for that matter. I did however enjoy the first of the series immensly. Not so much with this one. I don't want to give away anything but the whole story was just too much for me and a little off putting in content.
