The narrator was so very boring. I think I might have liked the story better if he actually sounded like he wanted to care about what he was doing.

Retelling until the end but it was great!

After listening to books two and three, one and four were released so I listened to it from the beginning. Book 1 was by far my favorite! It was sweet and hilarious. Book 4 was a retelling of books 1-3 until the end. It’s hard to say goodbye to this group of guys. Greg Boudreaux is always a fabulous narrator.

Slow Start

It took a while for me to like the story. The first half was repetitive. But the plot did eventually start. This was a surprise to me because I love Charlie Cochet stories. I didn’t read the first book in this series and there is no audio for it that I can find. I don’t think that story would have improved the beginning of this one. I almost quit listening, but I’m glad I stuck with it.

Book 1: A Criminal Minds Episode

Book one was a huge disappointment. First of all, the case was copied from a criminal minds episode. I think it was the season 6 finale. Second, I’m not feeling a connection between the characters. Sure, they’re good in bed, but I need an emotional connection. They still hardly know each other at the end of the book. I’m hoping books 2 and 3 are better. I loved Garret and Thayne so I’m hoping Mack and Leo can be a winning couple, too.
P.S. This author has terrible taste in music. It’s all from the past century.

Suspenseful

This was a great series. Lots of suspense and surprising events. Books 2 and 4 were slow at times, the but plot was amazing. Great narration.

To the author: using the word “pussy” the way Luca did in book 4 is insulting. In the scene, it is used to imply inferiority and weakness. Misogyny needs to stop.

A great feel-good story

A great feel-good story…

This story has some angst, but it didn’t overwhelm a big chunk of the book. There’s a seven years old boy who is important to the story but appears in only three scenes that I can remember. This story is about the two main characters not about a new family.

Great Addition

We met Jed and Bodhi in a Miro and Ion story. This is written from Jed’s point of view. There were multiple plots, but it all wove together nicely. I was wondering how Mary would get these two together. This story exceeded my expectations. I loved it. And the narration by Nick J Russo was excellent.

Surprisingly Boring

Not enough action.

Too much explaining. The information dumps were so long that I got confused many times.

Too much Jackson with new character.

This story could have been worse. Thankfully, I read the Johnies series already. I’m wondering if there were characters from another series also.

This story had great potential, but it fell flat for me. This is the first Amy Lane book that wasn’t great.

It was nice but…

It was a nice and sweet story, but it was too sweet. Too easy. That’s current day. The prologue was interesting and definitely not sweet. After that, I was expecting something more challenging that had me rooting for them. I was disappointed.
