Any additional comments?

Victor Herman gives a candid narrative on how brutally one human being can treat another and at the same time give us insight as to how humans can survive these harsh environments. If you enjoyed "Unbroken" by Laura Hillenbrand, then you will enjoy this book as well.

After listening to this book, it makes me grateful for everything I have. I thought the narrative was excellent and the book was well written making it easy to listen to. For those who think they are having tough times, they should listen to this audiobook, which will cause your mind to shift how you think about present circumstances.

I listened to this book because at the end of the 2nd term of Bush/Cheney administration, I became disenchanted as to how they seemed to fall apart (yes, I voted for them). However, I always feel it's best to make sure you hear all sides of the story. I thought then, and still do, that Cheney took some heat from the liberal media for which he could not directly respond due to his being in office.

I'm still not sure I agree with all his diplomatic views, but I appreciated listening to his views and his openness and frankness with his interactions with Rice, Powell, and Bush.

If you truly dislike someone for their views, you should at least hear them out. For those on the fence with how they feel about Cheney, you need to listen to this book. He gives also gives some good background on Nixon, Ford, Reagan, Clinton, and their staff. HIs review of history (i.e., Vietnam war) outlines how this affected the decision making process for the interventions in Kuwait, Afghanistan, and Iraq.

It's a good think that Edward Herrmann narrated this book. The epilogue and prologue are spoken by Cheney but you can tell his speech is labored, perhaps from his health. I think Herrmann could narrate instructions on how to fill out tax forms and still make it sound interesting.

Bill Shatner should narrate more books. He is very entertaining, keeps the listening very interesting, and is able to poke fun at himself. The years must have put some humility into him. I think history will treat Bill better than the present. A must read if you have ever been entertained by watching anything he has had a part in.

I kept coming back to this audio book solely because others rated it so highly. I passed on it several times thinking 14 hours was too much time. I decided that all the positive reviews just might make this a good listen. I must admit, after a year of membership and many audible ???listens???, this book has been the best by far. This audible book was excellently written, and having it narrated by Edward Herrmann was icing on the cake. This is one book that will probably always have a place in my memories.

Did I accidentally fast forward?

I really liked listening to this book. However, it???s not a ???read this and be happy book??? ??? you have to want to learn the basics of happiness and you have to want to change your outlook. A pessimist might find this book to be a turn off. The author narrates the book and does a great job. The preview teaser that you listen to on audible.com doesn???t do the book justice. This is the first audible book that I found myself breezing through so quickly that I thought I must have accidentally fast forwarded. If you know that happiness can truly make you successful, you should really listen to this book.

"You want the truth...you can't handle the truth"

If you have read any of Winglet???s material or listened to him on TV, you know he doesn't worry about hurting anyone???s feelings. I thought this book was great for anyone who has kids living under their roof (regardless of the kid???s age). You may not agree with everything Larry has to say but his point blank, in your face style of making you pointing out the problem has irrefutable truths. I think it???s great that Larry narrated the book ??? you won???t be disappointed in the listening. Love him or hate him, his common sense approach is hard to argue with.
