Historia
Patricia Campbell's life has never felt smaller. Her ambitious husband is too busy to give her a goodbye kiss in the morning, her kids have their own lives, her senile mother-in-law needs constant care, and she's always a step behind on thank-you notes and her endless list of chores. The one thing she has to look forward to is her book club, a close-knit group of Charleston women united by their love of true crime and paperback fiction. At these meetings they're as likely to talk about the Manson family as they are marriage, motherhood, and neighborhood gossip.

The friendships of The Southern Woman’s Book Club
Revisado: 03-03-25
I read this after My Best Friends Exorcist. Honestly, in hopes that it would be a bit better as it was a story told from the parents version of the town. It’s decent but not something I’m likely to read again.
Not sure if I’ll check out further works from the author. Time will tell. It definitely had a different twist on vampire. Although, it’s never really cleared up what type of monster he was. Nothing squeamish, or terribly creepy.

Amazing story of humanity
Revisado: 02-28-25
Really enjoyed. Beckoned the soul to grasp onto gratitude for your relationships, identity, and future. The story was full of emotions that one with a connection to humanity in general can not but help to swirl within them as you follow the MC. Definitely recommend for all.

Timeless friendships are never perfect
Revisado: 02-27-25
The story was pretty good. Loved the 80’s references. It was very odd reading reviews complaining about an incident with a dog. Yes, it was awful but to be focused on one fictional action of animal cruelty and to not be bothered by what transpired to fictional teenagers is really difficult to wrap my mind around. Empathy is an important essential trait but if you find yourself only having empathy for a fictional animal and not the human beings going through horrific experiences, you may want to do some deep diving into your psyche. The author himself describes himself as one whom makes up lies, stories, and he is a horror writer with nostalgia and humor. This wasn’t my favorite book but it was decent. The author did not step over any boundaries with one incident of animal cruelty from a demon. Try the same practice you claim you have for animals on fellow human beings. You might just assist in creating a better world for ALL! Otherwise, stay away from this genre and read some self help books.

Where is the Zombie action?
Revisado: 02-05-25
I’m well read on Pride and Prejudice. Know the characters well, plot, etc.
I’m a fan of the original. Although, open to variations without let’s say, prejudice just for pun sakes.
I believed the premise of inviting zombies into the P&P story, could be fun.
Unfortunately, we rarely encounter zombies or real action scenes that hold the reader’s attention. Seems as if that’s quite the plot hole. We still experienced some balls, finance, the basics of the story but the telling of the new version was as if 2 different writing styles were competing. I do not recommend as a fan of Pride & Prejudice, and Real zombie horror stories.

Not a winner
Revisado: 11-26-24
The narration was ok but overall story pretty much could be summed up as lackluster. No gems, no characters with which one could connect. Seemed more like a quick audible production to create content.

Interesting concept
Revisado: 10-19-24
The weaving of a tale with the complexities of the flaws of humanity bringing sinner and saint into 2 very interesting characters embarking on an adventure to save the world from a horrific doom.
Full of wit and humor as 2 men collide both receiving a purpose greater than themselves. Taking them on a journey through treacherous lands, fighting against evil forces while each man receives a voice of consciousness separate from their own creating a guiding light or the darkest of humanities capacity.
The book held my interest enough to move on to book 2.
This is my first time reading/listening to both the author and narrator. The author has built a foundation of which could lead in several directions. Enough so, to peak my interest on how he’s going to shape his craft.
The narrator was on point and enjoyable to listen to.
Reviews are difficult to write as one doesn’t want to give too much information to ruin the unveiling of the story. It’s a story that doesn’t take an effort to listen to. One can just leisurely listen.

So much fun sharing the genius of Sanderson with my son
Revisado: 10-14-24
Some minimal spoilers*
Be aware this series is for all Sanderson fans, most Sanderson fans love the feeling of time moving differently. This series really shows Sandersons humor. So, adults that are busy adulting every day. Let your self sit back and enjoy. There are various references that will crack you up.
I have read every book by Brandon Sanderson. A true genius in the world building fantasy genre. My kiddo is only 12 so I haven’t introduced him quite yet to the mounds of wealth of Sanderson’s series. Now Sanderson has curated an amazing series for children or those that are young at heart loving interesting unique clever books. The old adage, “Don’t judge a book by its cover” also coincides with “Don’t judge a book by Audible’s age recommendation”
The characters are funny, as well as flawed, Sanderson wildly torments the characters. The MC named Alcatraz is inspiring in a manner that is truly whacky. There’s magic, powers, mummies, family dynamics that replicate real life with humorous antics. Evil Librarians much more so than the librarians we grew up with scowls and shushing us as we chattered, chastising students for late returns. Oh no, these evil librarians are out to destroy Alcatraz’s family line due to the families powers. Powers we’ve never imagined, but powers once heard bring even the most serious adults smiles and a new imagination with humanity’s ability to evolve. Do yourself and children a huge service and get this series. Laugh together, talk about the importance of the universal sense of creativity, talk about your favorite characters, scenarios, as well as character development. As a parent you will have as much fun as your children.
