A few things bothered me.

I don’t leave reviews very often. The narrator was great. But there was a few things in the story and the deeper you got into the story it bothered me more. I know it’s just a story, but all witches are considered in the demon line. And pagan gods are portrayed as evil. With angels, of course being the heroes. If I would’ve known those details, I probably wouldn’t have wasted a credit on it. And of course, ever since Amazon took over you can’t return books quite as easily as before. So I just wanted to put that warning out there for anyone who is pagan maybe it wouldn’t bother you, but it bothered me just a little bit. Other than that, I do have to say the story is ok but I definitely will not be going on to the next book.

So I will just say it! The last 3 days I have been really sick so I downloaded her book to listen to while I was in bed!! I heard a few things about it so I was curious!!! It was so good!!! I cried!!! I always liked her music but will be the first to admit I never really paid attention to her much more than that!! Listening to it made me feel so bad I never paid attention!! Just goes to show anyone can make you think they live in a perfect world when in reality they are in hell!!

I really really wanted to like it but…

When I read reviews, I am looking for information that is going to help me determine whether or not this is going to be a book worth buying. I wish people would just be cut and dry, and not go into so much details about the book itself. Hello, I could read the description before I go into the reviews!!
So I’ve decided to categorize what I look for. (Disclaimer: if I am leaving a review more than likely, I have read multiple books in the series and my review or reflect that.)

Social Level: Adult, all stages of life.

Language:
I would not say these books are raunchy, but there’s some language to them.

Romance:
That’s kind of hard to say, it is a romance novel(s) but I’m not sure I would actually say it is a romantic book and/or books.

Sex:
Yes, but I would not categorized as over the top.

Creatures:
Basically, just vampires but multiple species of vampires.

Mood:
I would not consider this a dark, fantasy, romance book. I would put it somewhere in between dark and light.

Narrator:
There are two narrators, one female, and one male. The narrators not terrible, but for some reason I just can’t get into her. Although I’m not a big fan of multiple narrators.

Continuing On:
I have tried to continue on, but I just cannot get into the series.

Does it continue with the same characters:
I’ve only listen to the first two books in the series, and from what I have observed it does pick up right from where it left off and continues on with the main characters story.

Last Thoughts:
I really wanted to like the series because I love this author. Absolutely love the Phoenix and/or Mercury Pack series. I really enjoy the Dark in You series too so I just presumed when I started this particular series, it was going to be just as good because of how wonderful those other series are, but I personally just could not get into it.

Very cute and bubbly.

So I’ve decided to categorize what I look for.

Social Level:
Adult, she is in I think her 20s maybe early 30s.

Language:
Language is cute, very bubbly. I don’t think there was any cuss words. If there was very very few, and probably more like slang.

Romance:
This is a very light romance, a lot of flirting than nitty-gritty romance.

Sex:
They talk about sex, but there are no sexual scenes.

Creatures:
This book is about witches. There is a cute little old vampire that pops up.

Mood:
This is not a dark book although it is categorized as a mystery I believe, and there is a mystery to it don’t get me wrong, but definitely not dark at all. I would say it reminds me a lot of Murder. She Wrote the TV show I used to watch with my grandma when I was a little kid.

Narrator:
I didn’t mind the narrator at all.

Continuing On:
This is a box set that I am reviewing, but there are multiple books in the series that is not included in the box set I believe there are seven books in all, maybe a couple more side ones. I have continued on. I did enjoy the story.

Last Thoughts:
This is not my usual cup of tea. I like a little bit more darker romance, sex books, but sometimes those can be so over the top and raunchy that you need a break. I gave this book a try and I’m very happy that I did. It is cute, uplifting, and bubbly. I have listen to it the whole series multiple times. Although I do believe there is another book out, number seven that I have not listened to yet, but I will eventually.

Not my cup of tea!

I love fantasy/romance and I also like lots of sex. In my opinion in order to be a good book you need a good storyline, great characters and don't just put sex in just so you can have a sex scene. I really liked the concept of the storyline but unfortunately as much as I like my sex scenes I don't like multiple sex partners especially all at once, to me that's just a big orgy, some people like that and if you do I think you would really like this series but for me not so much.

Love this book!!

I only tried this book because it was part of the free section of my book club. And I am certainly glad I did!! I don’t normally enjoy young adult typically I like a little bit more of adult-based themes but this book is definitely worth a credit if you can’t get it for free too!! I would definitely say you have to go in with an open mind because it is young adult they are in high school so you can’t expect an adult theme. But I love how she enter twine‘s history and real life facts and items into the story!!! I am now on book 4 and I decided that I love them so much that I actually ordered myself the actual paperback book set!! I’ve only done this one other time when listening to audible books.

Wow, just WOW!!!!!!

I almost just flipped right by this is not my type of audiobook nor would it be some thing that I would have looked for but I am so glad it came across my feed because wow just wow it touched me in a way that I will never look at her the same!! I wish I knew her in real life cuz I would love for her to give me a hug and tell me everything's going to be okay but in a way that is exactly what her book did for me!!

Can't wait for the next book!!

Well if you read my review for the first book in this series it will come to no surprise that I absolutely love this book!! Jeaniene Frost is probably one of my favorite authors out there.

And as I said before...

Although this series a 1000% can stand on it's own ( and I kind of wish this was her main series ) I do highly recommend starting with The Night Huntress series ( Halfway to the Grave, the first book in the series ) first.

I would also recommend looking up how to read her book series in order, she has a lot of little side books that go along with this wonderful world she has dreamed up.

The only possible thing I can say negative is...

I sadly think there is only going to be 4 books in the series. Boy oh boy I hope I am wrong about that!!

The prefect combo!!!!

Wow! I love Jeaniene Frost!! Just when I thought the world of her books, she had to go and top her self!! I personally think this is her best work yet!! I actually just finished the 2nd book in the series and knew I had to write a review!

Although this series a 1000% can stand on it's own ( and I kind of wish this was her main series ) I do highly recommend starting with The Night Huntress series ( Halfway to the Grave, the first book in the series ) first.

Not my favorite in the series but still wroth it.

I am really liking the Immortals of New Orleans series although this was not one of my favorite books out of the 4 that I have listen to so far. I like a lot of romance and sex scenes and even though this was a great story I just thought there was too much steamy sex scenes. Maybe if they were more spread out I would have felt different with that being said though I am continuing on with the series and can't wait for the next one.
