Historia
Political violence rips apart several towns in southwest Texas. A far-right militia plots to kidnap the governor of Michigan and try her for treason. An armed mob of Trump supporters and conspiracy theorists storms the U.S. Capitol. Are these isolated incidents? Or is this the start of something bigger? Barbara F. Walter has spent her career studying civil conflict in places like Iraq, Ukraine, and Sri Lanka, but now she has become increasingly worried about her own country.

It was what I thought it would be so for that, I am happy with the purchase. Just long enough to not be boring

The man behind the headlines
Revisado: 11-05-24
I like all of the back story. Sully growing up, married life, his family’s personalities, the struggles and the triumphs. It’s not just about Sully’s 15 seconds of fame. I feel like you get to know the rest of him as a person.

Transparent and truthful
Revisado: 09-09-24
I like Jimmy’s willingness to be vulnerable and share so much about his life, both the good and the bad. He’s a real person

Historia
Imagine being a 13-year-old girl in love with boys, school, family - life itself. Then suddenly, in a matter of hours, your life is shattered by the arrival of a foreign army. This is the memoir of Elli Friedmann, who was 13 years old in March 1944, when the Nazis invaded Hungary. It describes her descent into the hell of Auschwitz, a concentration camp where, because of her golden braids, she was selected for work instead of extermination. In intimate, excruciating details she recounts what it was like.

Pretty good
Revisado: 01-21-23
Overall, pretty good. But I did notice a mistake in the treatment of someone in cardiac arrest that does not align with American Heart Association guidelines. It made me wonder how accurate the rest of the stories are, but other than that I like the overall format and used it to remind me to always take every possibility into consideration.

Good intro to Buddhist teachings
Revisado: 01-17-23
I thought that this was a good introduction to Buddhist teachings. There was enough depth to make me feel like I was learning but not so much to make me feel overwhelmed or bogged down with information.

Historia
Freedom from suffering is not only possible, but the means for achieving it are immediately within our grasp - literally as close to us as our own breath. This is the 2,500-year-old good news contained in the Anapanasati Sutra, the Buddha's teaching on cultivating both tranquility and deep insight through full awareness of breathing. In this book, Larry Rosenberg brings this timeless meditation method to life.

A good intro to Buddhist meditation
Revisado: 12-21-22
I was looking to start learning about Buddhist meditation and I think this is a great place to start. I liked the voice actor’s style and the way the author chose to write his book. It’s very much like listening to a lecture (which I usually find boring and not worth my time), but interesting enough to keep my attention until the end.
