Historia
Beginning with Jesus' birth, Ken Bailey leads you on a kaleidoscopic study of Jesus throughout the four Gospels. Bailey examines the life and ministry of Jesus with attention to the Lord's Prayer, the Beatitudes, Jesus' relationship to women, and especially Jesus' parables. Through it all, Bailey employs his trademark expertise as a master of Middle Eastern culture to lead you into a deeper understanding of the person and significance of Jesus within his own cultural context.

One of the best resources on Jesus EVER

A "must read/listen"
Revisado: 08-13-22
The Bible is too often read through the cultural lense of the reader, rather than that of the original audience. Bailey does an exceptional job giving us a proper lense to view many things found in the Gospel.
The book is not technical and is enjoyable to listen to.
I highly recommend this book.

Historia
Although it is a foundational confession for all Christians, much of the theological significance of Jesus’s identity as “the Son of God” is often overlooked or misunderstood. Moreover, this Christological concept stands at the center of today’s Bible translation debates and increased ministry efforts to Muslims.

A necessary book
Revisado: 01-15-22
An excellent and necessary book for today. All Christians should read this book in order to think more clearly about what it means for Jesus to be the Son of God, but it is especially important for those who interact with unitarians to grasp the content of this book.
Well worth the read/listen.

Historia
A cautionary look at 10 dangerously appealing half-truths. Not long ago, I came across a list of 10 principles set forth by proponents of progressive Christianity. They are, in effect, a new 10 commandments. What’s striking is that they are far less about God revealing his desires and far more about man expressing his own - less Moses, more Oprah. Yet each of these commandments is partially true. Indeed, that is what makes this list, and progressive Christianity as a whole, so challenging.

A must read
Revisado: 09-06-20
Michael kruger exposes the cancer of "progressive" Christianity in a short but powerful critique of "progressive" Christianities primarily tenants of belief.
When finished, you are left with the desire that he had expanded further - always an indication that the book was enjoyable.

Campus outed!
Revisado: 07-31-18
I love the Jack Ryan series but this whole book was a complete letdown. More importantly, however, is the whole concept of the campus was destroyed in this book. The campus is supposed to be a super secret off the books spy agency. Writers in the past were cognizant of that and only individuals here and there became aware that members of the campus were more than their cover identities suggested. In this book, the Russans are on a conference call with President Ryan, Gerry, Gavin, Jack Jr. etc. while Jack is saving the world. The Bosnia and Herzegovina Intelligence-Security Agency learn who Jack Jr. is. A super secret criminal network that no one has heard of and yet has enormous resources and world-wide reach knows of the campus and who its members are.
This is the biggest problem with the book. The campus has been outed! So where does the series go from here? Let me guess, the person(s) who reviewed the transcript for this book overlooked this fact and are hoping no one notices and they can carry on like it’s still a secret.
I have a number of complaints about this book but I will give two more and stop. My second complaint is the character development of Jack Jr. was completely forgotten. He had been disciplined in the past for disobeying orders and was suspended. He spent time away from the campus and realized his error and returned. In this book he is consistently disregarding orders, failing to answer his phone and texts, failing to update his superiors and yet it’s all honky dory, Gerry acts more like Jacks grandfather.
Lastly, this story should have been a Jack Reacher book, not a Jack Ryan book. The writer didn’t know how to weave other story lines together or to utilize multiple star characters. The other members of the campus had zero part to play and would have been better left out completely than the useless part they did play.
Sorry to say this book should have been dropped from the beginning.
