Historia
In 1940, France fell to the Nazis and almost immediately the German army began a campaign of pillaging one of the assets the French hold most dear: their wine. Like others in the French Resistance, winemakers mobilized to oppose their occupiers, but the tale of their extraordinary efforts has remained largely unknown - until now. This is the thrilling and harrowing story of the French wine producers who undertook ingenious, daring measures to save their cherished crops and bottles as the Germans closed in on them.

Brilliant in every way!
Revisado: 12-01-20
As a vineyard owner, this book and collection of magnificent WWII stories of resilience and wine traditions had a very special meaning. As a common reader, it was fascinating. The narrator did a fantastic job as well. Without him, the story would have been lost.

A simply fascinating true story...
Revisado: 04-18-11
This book reveals the Kennedy family as an all-American "family" involved in the political history of the world for once, and not as they have always been portrayed, "politicians" that happened to be family. Incredible story that will make you laugh and cry, feel proud and angry, sad and inspired, all at the same time. All Americans should be proud of having such a family as part of our culture and their legacy as part of our history.

Simply magical!
Revisado: 04-18-11
I have read the book many times in the past and never thought I could catch the energy of the book on audio. Well, I could not have been more wrong! Jeremy Irons simply sings the story and transports you through word by word. I have listen to it now more than I have read it before. It is simply magical!
