One more rewrite, please.
Revisado: 07-29-17
While the author conceived a good basic plot, the addition of some suspense would have strengthened it. The characters are shallow and predictable, their voices all presented in a gritty, nasal, regional quality which made listening to them a chore. To say the presentation was colorless would be kind. The author should try again. The narrator should not.

Historia
When Police Sergeant Hamish Macbeth hears reports of a haunted castle near Drim, he assumes the eerie noises and lights reported by the villagers are just local teenagers going there to smoke pot or, worse, inject themselves with drugs. Still, Hamish decides that he and his policeman, Charlie "Clumsy" Carson, will spend the night at the ruined castle to get to the bottom of the rumors once and for all. There's no sign of any ghost...but then Charlie disappears through the floor. It turns out he's fallen into the cellar. And what Hamish and Charlie find there is worse than a ghost.

Hamish is growing up?
Revisado: 07-28-17
This episode in the life of Macbeth presents the undisciplined Highland copper in a slightly more mature phase of life until his favorite ladies, Priscilla and Elspeth, walk onto the scene, setting him back a few years. The plot, involving a couple of ill-fated policemen who disrupt Hamish's routine of gathering the eggs from his hen house and feeding his sheep, moves quickly to a satisfactory end, leaving the reader primed for another peek into Hamish's idyllic and otherwise idle existence. Beaton is a force for every writer to contend with.

Historia
Lo Blacklock, a journalist who writes for a travel magazine, has just been given the assignment of a lifetime: a week on a luxury cruise with only a handful of cabins. The sky is clear, the waters calm, and the veneered, select guests jovial as the exclusive cruise ship, the Aurora, begins her voyage in the picturesque North Sea. At first Lo's stay is nothing but pleasant: The cabins are plush, the dinner parties are sparkling, and the guests are elegant. But as the week wears on, frigid winds whip the deck, and gray skies fall.

The Woman in Cabin 10
Revisado: 07-28-17
This book begins to fulfill its promise of psychological suspense on page one and maintains it until the end. The protagonist is well defined, her fears and suspicions carrying her into a state of desperation until she is validated in the bloody and traumatic conclusion. While the plot progresses steadily, the author provides no intervals of the comic relief to which many readers have become accustomed in most formulaic writing.

Historia
Something very odd seems to be going on out beyond Pluto. Astronomers have known for more than two decades that the tiny former planet is not alone at the edge of the solar system: it is part of a vast cloud of icy objects known collectively as the Kuiper belt. But unlike most of their fellow travelers, and unlike the planets and most asteroids, which orbit between Mars and Jupiter, a small handful of Kuiper belt objects, or KBOs, have orbits that are decidedly weird.
