Precisely on Target
Revisado: 09-24-24
This book deserves sacred space on the book shelf of every bible believing, Jesus following, truth sharing Christian Crusader. Thank you for speaking honestly about a foundational anchor of truth in such a warm, relatable and immediately life-changing way.. The Reflection prompts at the end of each chapter facilitated revelation from my Abba Father in such a personal and meaningful way. I plan to read this book at the beginning of each year to strengthen my faith and witness to the world.

Historia
If you grew up with an emotionally immature, unavailable, or selfish parent, you may recall your childhood as a time when your emotional needs were not met or dismissed—and you may have lingering feelings of anger, loneliness, betrayal, and abandonment. As an adult, you have fought hard to establish your own sense of self, and heal the wounds caused by your upbringing. But what about other emotionally immature people (EIP) in your life? As an adult child of an emotionally immature parent (ACEIP), you may be particularly vulnerable to EIPs.

Historia
As David Brooks observes, “There is one skill that lies at the heart of any healthy person, family, school, community organization, or society: the ability to see someone else deeply and make them feel seen—to accurately know another person, to let them feel valued, heard, and understood.” And yet we humans don’t do this well. All around us are people who feel invisible, unseen, misunderstood. In How to Know a Person, Brooks sets out to help us do better, posing questions that are essential for all of us: If you want to know a person, what kind of attention should you cast on them?

This Book Changed Me
Revisado: 06-06-24
As a person who myself often feels unseen, misunderstood and unfairly categorized, I learned so many new ways of viewing myself and others. From revealing deep truths about humanity in modern day society through paradigms as diverse as psych analysis to story telling, this book left me feeling less anxious and confused about others and more self aware and compassionate toward myself. Highly recommend this deeply insightful, altruistic and very well written narrative that reads more like an intriguing conversation than argumentative thread of consciousness!

Historia
Jesus warned that deception would grow worse as we draw nearer to the end times, saying, "Take heed that no one deceives you" (Matthew 24:4). Distinguishing truth from error has become an increasingly challenging task—even in the church. We live in a time when falsehoods assault us from every direction. Packaged with just enough truth to make them appear trustworthy, these counterfeits have grown more and more difficult to detect and avoid. Living in the Daze of Deception explores the many ways error is masquerading as truth—and how you can discern the difference.

Historia
When you think of Christmas, what do you see? Glittering lights, decked-out trees, brightly wrapped gifts, a tightly packed schedule? Look closer. What do you hear? Ringing bells, familiar carols, Mariah Carey on an endless loop at the grocery store? Listen harder. In a season that is busy and bustling, there is a deeper, softer, quieter truth that we too often miss in the mayhem.
