Historia
In The War on the West, Douglas Murray shows how many well-meaning people have been fooled by hypocritical and inconsistent anti-West rhetoric. After all, if we must discard the ideas of Kant, Hume, and Mill for their opinions on race, shouldn’t we discard Marx, whose work is peppered with racial slurs and anti-Semitism? Embers of racism remain to be stamped out in America, but what about the raging racist inferno in the Middle East and Asia?

Deep respect for a historical education
Revisado: 03-03-25
I dislike the lack of individual ‘s requirements to question any groups. Mr Murray provides an essential need for gratification. That is individual gratitude

Historia
Free speech is a human right, and the free expression of thought is at the very essence of being human. The United States was founded on this premise, and the First Amendment remains the single greatest constitutional commitment to the right of free expression in history. Yet there is a systemic effort to bar opposing viewpoints on subjects ranging from racial discrimination to police abuse, from climate change to gender equity. The Indispensable Right places the current attacks on free speech in their proper historical, legal, and political context.

Historia
When superstar athlete Jim Thorpe and football legend Pop Warner met in 1904 at the Carlisle Indian Industrial School in Pennsylvania, they forged one of the winningest teams in American football history. Called "the team that invented football", they took on the best opponents of their day, defeating much more privileged schools such as Harvard and Army in a series of breathtakingly close calls, genius plays, and bone-crushing hard work.

I was a pop warner player. I love every moment. The experience continues to help me be a better person 60 years later. I was sad to read of the betrayal
The Army game was wonderful

Historia
Author of the National Book Award-winning All the Pretty Horses, Cormac McCarthy is one of the most provocative American stylists to emerge in the last century. The striking novel Blood Meridian offers an unflinching narrative of the brutality that accompanied the push west on the 1850s Texas frontier.

The horror of what men can do to each other. The detail description with in each sentence turned to tedium
Revisado: 12-31-23
Not sure. The characters caused discomfort. Very ugly.
The historical period was more personally complex than I thought. Love pretty white horses but had to work to complete this read

The epilogue brings satisfaction
Revisado: 10-14-23
Very tough read. Alcoholism is rampant, along with personal horrors, violence and corruption. Hack lives on the edge. I was determined not to read the series but the epilogue changed my mind .
Will Patton is perfect. Brought life to each character

Historia
Defense expert Seth Jones argues that the US is woefully unprepared for the future of global competition. While America has focused on building fighter jets, missiles, and conventional warfighting capabilities, its three principal rivals - Russia, Iran, and China - have increasingly adopted irregular warfare: cyber attacks, the use of proxy forces, propaganda, espionage, and disinformation to undermine American power. Jones details the key steps the United States must take to alter how it thinks about - and engages in - competition before it is too late.
