Slammin’ good book! I actually liked this even more than I did Amen Maxine. Faith Gardner…you can keep the Jolvix Episodes coming because I love these books.
NARRATION: Millie Anne Shipe & Ryan H. Reid. At first, I wasn’t sure how I felt about Shipe but she eventually grew on me. Reid was super good…his voice was chef's kiss.

An Audible Original that’s more like a full-length novel and a story that is so much fun to listen to. Four women who don’t really like each other are thrown together to solve what got their spouses or significant others killed in a plane crash. Plus there’s a mobster who wants his 4 million that supposedly blew up with the plane. At just over 8 hours long this Audible Original is a fast-paced mystery/thriller with mobsters, contract killers, one shady AF New Year's Eve party, and some found-family vibes. I highly recommend it!

Although I had a few minor issues with how some elements played out in the end, overall I found this to be an oddly wonderful heartfelt story of redemption, loss and moving on. A story with unique characters and an unparalleled storyline.
Susannah Johnson gave a wonderful performance…I just wish that she only narrated for the part of Ellis and that Raven/Viola was narrated by someone different. It would have given this remarkable story the narration it deserved.

4¼⭐
Revisado: 01-23-22
For the most part, this book is narrated by Paige Layle, who is Autistic…just like the MC in this book is. And every so often there is a chapter that is narrated by a full-cast with sound effects and everything. Although I can’t say that the heavy breathing that we are subjected to during a kiss scene was…good/warranted and I really could’ve done without those sound effects.
Generally speaking, I found the narration to be quite well performed by all…but especially by Paige. She made the story a worthwhile listen…even when the mystery was lacking, somewhat.
The mystery at work here relies heavily on the MC not telling us everything that she saw that night, despite the fact that she knew all along…and we are in her head. That sort of “mystery” doesn’t really work for me. Still, I found being in Charlie’s head interesting and even educational so overall with all things considered…I did enjoy listening to this.

Wow, this book is amazing...it had me...from the point of the tragic accident...all the way to the end. This apparently was an Amazon First Read...and if I realized then what I know now...I would have snatched this one up. As it was, I listened to this through a KU read & listen.
When I started this, I think I want to say that I didn't like the narration...but honestly, at about ten percent in, the person narrating was the furthest thought from my mind...because the story had sucked me in. So, basically, she must have been good because her narration never pulled me out of the story.
This book is emotional, of that, there is no doubt, but a lot of it is the good kind of emotional. It's not just heartbreaking, it's also heart-mending. You should just read it...or listen to it, whichever is your favorite way to consume books...just do it.

Timely, and poignant, with indelible characters and a little bit of twist that I didn't see coming. This story gives you insight into bullying from different angles, that will surprise and inspire. This was a really good story and I wouldn't have expected this type of book from KA Tucker, but I know with her writing it will be not only profound but also memorable. I still remember how Ten Tiny Breaths, my first book by this author, made me feel and this book has done the same.
Katie Schoor was perfect for the voice of Aria...but I was thrown off by one little inconsequential thing, her constant pronunciation of project...she always said it <PRO-ject> instead of <PRA-ject>. I wondered if that was a Canadian thing or just her thing. Seriously, though, I really loved this.

Re-read/listen on Audio...the narration by Amy McFadden was not great...it was not only robotic-sounding but rather cheesy at times...and I know she has improved since this book came out because normally I'm okay with her narration. While not the greatest narration I've heard...it's not the worse either and I'm still glad I gave this a try on audio. I've docked a half star, though, for my rating, due to the narration.
From my original review of the eBook...Definitely, something different, I really liked this imaginative story. This is unlike anything I ever read before and in a good way. It has a fierce heroine and a very likable hero. It still holds true today and also I would add this is a great start to a series that I really enjoyed overall and while the second and third books don't hold a candle to the wonderment that this book has...they still complete the series really well. With a dark, insidious setting, in the murky depths of hell...this story is YA Urban Fantasy at its best and most ominous.

4 Star Rating Overall...4½ Stars Narration Rating

The setting has completely changed for this second book...the first book took place in South America, and most of the story played out from inside a jail cell. This one has moved all the way to Toronto, Canada, next to the only Great Lake that I've never personally seen, Lake Ontario.
Our morally gray characters have started second-guessing themselves a lot...Nita more so than Kovit, and she did a lot of soul-searching throughout this book. Eventually, she just decided...screw it...and did what had to be done, and thank goodness...because it was starting to feel like I was caught up in a self-imposed therapy session.
While there were elements I struggled with, I, for the most part, found this engaging and was totally there for the supernatural-ish world that the author has created, because it's so unlike anything I've ever read before. I did like learning a whole lot more about Kovit, and also there's a dabble of romance or something of the sort. Really, the whole theme going on here seems to be the question of whether Nita thinks her and Kovit are redeemable or does it even really matter if they're redeemable...since they're just trying to survive in a world that keeps knocking them down.

Historia
I have three months to write the last book of my life. Three months to confess the details of that day, and how it changed everything for me. My name is Helena Ross. I've written 15 romance novels, 10 of which have become international best sellers. But this one isn't a romance, no happily ever after in place. This novel holds only the truth, which I have run away from for four years. The truth, which I have hidden from the police, from my loved ones, from the world.

The total package 5 stars all around...
Revisado: 07-02-20
Why did I wait so long to read/listen to this? This is an amazing story...stunningly emotional. It had some Verity vibes...or I should say that Verity has some Ghostwriter vibes...since this technically came out before Verity. It's not in any way the same story, just that it has a similar feel. Without giving anything away, a few of the similarities is both books are by authors whose usual fare is romance and also the plot's center on having another writer write your story...and of course, the freaky AF twists...which are freaky in totally different ways but still equally jaw-dropping. One of the differences is Verity will mess with your head...and this will mess with your heart...either way they're both on my favorites list.
Andrea Izzy Anthony did a remarkable performance...in all, I believe she pulled off about 3...maybe 4 POVs. Usually, I believe that different POVs need separate narrators...but I have to give her props for a job well done.
Overall, a very worthwhile read/listen, with an ending that is really heartbreaking but also really fulfilling...giving each (all except one, but I'm not sure they deserved it) of the characters the closure they need.
