The fundamental flaw in this book is that Max is too often alone, resulting in less dialogue and “people” interaction and more self conscious dithering on the part of Max which began to be seen as out of character. I got tired after a while of all the questions she kept asking herself, going over the same ground again and again. Still, it was a decent story which might have been improved by a heavier edit.

When the sequel is even better than the first book…

…you know you’re in for a good read. “Don’t Touch the Blue Stuff” delivered everything I was wanting
and more. When things seem out of control in our own universe, the further adventures of Chip, Pete, Bobo and yes, even Tesla and Einstein saving the multiverse yet again are so entertaining, funny, and schmaltzy that I literally “escaped” from our own tribulations for a while. And loved every minute. If you can, grab the Audible recording of the author reading the book. It doubles the fun! I’ve already ordered book three.

An excellent listen for Dr. Who fans. Great story line, complex alien nemesis, and more than usual time for really getting to know the characters and how they live. No spoilers! Author and reader seem made for each other.

I listened to the entire book because I love listening to Simon Prebbles, who always brings characters to life and does here. Had I been reading the text, though, I would have stopped long before reaching the end. There is no real plot here, nor any fully developed characters. Most of the book jumps back and forth between the past and present at too many unexpected moments and to no real purpose. The concept is interesting and fun, but not well executed.

Great adaptation of a book of short stories from the companions' point of view. Twelve stories for 12 Doctors for fans of the entire run, or newer fans wanting a glimpse of the "whole." Some stories are better than others, but all are a good "read."
