Historia
Charlie Reade looks like a regular high school kid, great at baseball and football, a decent student. But he carries a heavy load. His mom was killed in a horrific accident when he was seven, and grief drove his dad to drink. Charlie learned how to take care of himself—and his dad. When Charlie is seventeen, he meets a dog named Radar and her aging master, Howard Bowditch, a recluse in a big house at the top of a big hill, with a locked shed in the backyard. Sometimes strange sounds emerge from that shed.

Excellent, riveting story! Great Narration!
Revisado: 01-30-23
I absolutely loved this book, it was the best I’ve read since the “Prince of Fools” trilogy. The writing sucks you into the life of Charlie from the very beginning - and does a marvelous job of telling 2 tales - one on this world, and one on another. The narration is very well performed, and I liked the bit where King does the read (nice fit). It seems to be a slightly different storytelling style from Mr King than some other books of his that I’ve read & enjoyed - but in a good, refreshing way.
The only, only, only thing that I wished for was during the last quarter of the book, there were some parts of the climb up to the climactic finale that I wanted more embellishment from. But, keep in mind that I was totally sucked into the story and didn’t want it to end, so…. :-)

Historia
Highlighting the fascinating link between a child’s neurological development and the way a parent reacts to misbehavior, No-Drama Discipline provides an effective, compassionate road map for dealing with tantrums, tensions, and tears - without causing a scene. Defining the true meaning of the “d” word (to instruct, not to shout or reprimand), the authors explain how to reach your child, redirect emotions, and turn a meltdown into an opportunity for growth.

Helpful!
Revisado: 08-06-18
I really enjoyed this book! I found that there were a lot of helpful tools to assist me with my 6 year old who can often be very emotionally charged. This book changed my entire perspective on how I approach my children's emotions and I believe that we are a much more emotionally healthy, functional family because of it!

Historia
Ten years after disappearing from Antietam, Maryland, the bad boy has come home. Cleaned up and successful now - though still dangerously good-looking - Rafe MacKade sets the town on fire…and tongues wagging. Not even lovely newcomer Regan Bishop is immune to his charms. Though Regan claims to not want to get involved with a rebel, Rafe's pretty sure that her reaction to their sizzling kisses suggests otherwise.

Great Story and Performance!
Revisado: 06-23-18
This is a classic Nora Roberts story that, combined with the narration performance, left me so entertained. Once I got used to the narrator, I found him quite enjoyable. There are so many different characters, I really appreciated all his different voices to keep them all straight.

Boring and Predictable
Revisado: 05-01-18
Apparently Mr. Sparks can sell anything. I'm usually such a fan, but I can't understand how this made it to print. This book dragggggged on for so very long, detailing mundane days in a mediocre marriage and went exactly where the reader suspects with little to no surprise or excitement. The author's name was the only reason I finished this book, holding out hope for an epic moment, and I was left diappointed.
